  • Patent number: 5876226
Abstract: To enable a worker to be able to quickly and correctly verify that a slide-type cam member has moved into a closed position, making it possible for a housing of a mating connector to be moved into a completely engaged position, a resilient latch 40 member, which extends toward a housing 12 from an upper end of a side wall section 33 of a cam member 30, is located on the cam member 30. A latch section 50, which has an aperture 54 that receives a protrusion 42 of the latch member 40, is located on an upper part of the housing 12. As the cam member 30 is moved from a first position to a closed position, the latch member 40 is depressed downward as a result of the protrusion 42 moving along a second surface 55 of the latch section 50. When the cam member 30 has moved into the closed position, the protrusion 42 is received by the aperture 54 and, by virtue of the interrelationship, the latch member 40 resiles to its original shape.

  • Patent number: 5575676
Abstract: In order to prevent deformation of contacts of connectors during their joining and to reduce the effort required for their connection without resorting to an increase in size, a cam-equipped connector has a facility for an intermediary joining. To prevent deformation of contacts, the female connector 10, equipped with a cam device 30, has protrusions 14 extending from the bottom surface 11a of a joining cavity 11 which are longer than contact sections of the male contacts. Cavities 24 intended for reception of the protrusions 14 are made in the joining surface 21 of the male connector 20. The protrusions 14 and the cavities 24 have maintaining steps 14a and maintaining lugs 24a for an intermediary joining of the connectors 10, 20.

  • Patent number: 5562500
Abstract: The double lock device 1 having latching arms 2 and through holes 12 located in the vicinity of the ends of the latching arms 2 is placed in the connector housing 50. In a normal state, the lugs 10 of the latching arms 2 are locked in depressions 54 of the housing 50. In order to release this locking, the latching arms 2 are bent by a tool 80 whose tip 82 becomes engaged with the through hole 12. The double lock device is extracted by moving the tool 80 in the direction shown by arrow B.

  • Patent number: 4832613
Abstract: An electrical connector for electrical connection with a complementary electrical connector comprises an insulating housing (11, 31) having a first recessed portion (12, 32) opening outward. A plurality of electrical contact members (14) are secured in the housing (11, 31) and have contact sections extending along the first recessed portion but spaced inwardly from a front end of the housing (11, 31). A movable guide member has a second recessed portion (15a, 35c) and is positioned in the first recessed portion (12, 32) at an outer position and has holes (15c) in a bottom wall in which ends (14a) of the contact members are positioned.

  • Patent number: 4797116
Abstract: An electrical connector (10) for electrical connection to a complementary electrical connector (20) comprises a housing (10a) having electrical contacts (13) secured in passageways (11) by housing lances (14); a movable contact guide member (40) is positioned in the housing (10a) and includes a guide plate (41) having holes (43) through which ends of contact sections (132) of contacts (13) extend when the contact guide member is an outer position so that holes (43) serve to align and guide the contact sections (132) for electrical engagement with complementary contact sections (231) of electrical contacts (23) secured in housing (20a) when contact guide member (40) moves to an inner position during the engagement between connectors (10, 20); and the movable contact guide member has an inner section (42) that extends along and maintains the housing lances (14) in latching engagement with the contacts (13).

  • Patent number: 4623210
Abstract: An electrical connector assembly comprises matable male and female housing members including latching members for latching the housing members together. One of the housing members is provided on an outer surface with a flexible latching arm extending in the direction of the other of the housing members and includes a hole near the end that is integral with the housing member. A latching section is provided on an outer surface of the other of the housing members and engages an upper surface of the latching arm when a latching projection of the latching section is latchably disposed in the hole of the latching arm thereby latching the mated housing members together.
