Publication number: 20020105769Abstract: A load control apparatus, in the form of a hybrid IC, comprises a microcomputer, control IC, and a plurality of MOS transistors. The control IC comprises only one temperature detection circuit for the MOS transistors. The MOS transistors and the temperature detection circuit are closely provided in thermally coupled manner. A temperature detected by the temperature detection circuit is compared with a predetermined threshold temperature for the purpose of detecting abnormal heat generation. When abnormal heat generation is detected, a current of each MOS transistor detected by a current detection circuit is compared with a predetermined threshold current for the purpose of detecting the MOS transistors under abnormal condition. The MOS transistor which is under the abnormal condition is exclusively controlled to protect other components.Type: ApplicationFiled: January 28, 2002Publication date: August 8, 2002Inventors: Taketoshi Sato, Masao Yamada

Patent number: 5811948Abstract: An electric motor has first and second power feed terminals. A power feed line connects a dc power supply and the electric motor. A switching element provided in the power feed line includes a MOS-FET having a gate subjected to a pulse width modulation signal with a controllable duty cycle. The switching element changes between its on state and its off state in response to the pulse width modulation signal. The first power feed terminal of the electric motor is connected to the switching element. A flywheel diode connected in parallel with the electric motor operates to absorb a voltage which appears across the electric motor and returning a current when the switching element changes to its off state. A capacitor connected between the gate of the switching element and the second power feed terminal of the electric motor operates to suppress radio-frequency noise occurring upon every change of the switching element between its on state and its off state.Type: GrantFiled: August 2, 1996Date of Patent: September 22, 1998Assignee: Nippondenso Co., Ltd.Inventors: Taketoshi Sato, Masao Yamada, Shigeru Takeuchi

Patent number: 5427977Abstract: An Si or SiC semiconductor layer is subjected to anodic oxidation in an HF solution to form a porous semiconductor layer. Without drying, the porous semiconductor layer is then immersed in pure water. Ultrasonic waves applied to the pure water shorten the reaction time and help bubbles separate from the surface of the porous region. The porous semiconductor layer is used for forming a pn junction, and carriers are injected into the pn junction.Type: GrantFiled: January 6, 1994Date of Patent: June 27, 1995Assignee: Fujitsu LimitedInventors: Masao Yamada, Motoo Nakano, George J. Patent number: 5397942Abstract: A driver circuit in an integrated circuit includes a flip-flop circuit and a plurality of AND gates. The flip-flop circuit causes an external control signal which is supplied externally to synchronize with a clock signal, and produces an internal control signal. The AND gates control a plurality of outputs based on a data signal in accordance with the internal control signal. Since the internal control signal is synchronized with the clock signal, changes in the outputs from the AND gates are delayed from the timing of the clock signal. Thus, it is possible to prevent the occurrence of malfunction caused by a switching current to flow in transient of changes in the outputs.Type: GrantFiled: August 24, 1992Date of Patent: March 14, 1995Assignee: NEC CorporationInventor: Masao Yamada

Patent number: 5197687Abstract: An improved automatic roll-in take-up roller for winding and unwinding a continuous sheet-like recording medium is disclosed, which comprises a plurality of cams disposed inside a hollow cylindrical body of the take-up roller for releasably holding a leading end of the recording medium inside the take-up roller, and a switching guide unit disposed immediately upstream of take-up roller for guiding the recording medium toward the take-up roller or a cutter. After the leading end of the recording medium is retained on the take-up roller, the guide unit can be displaced to a position spaced far distant from an outer peripheral surface of the take-up roller so that a large number of turns of the recording medium can be wound around the take-up roller. The cams are arranged along a longitudinal axis of the take-up roller at such a distribution that the recording medium is automatically aligned even when the leading end of the recording paper is inserted into the take-up roller in an obliquely displaced condition.Type: GrantFiled: July 9, 1992Date of Patent: March 30, 1993Assignee: Matsushita Graphic Communications Systems, Inc.Inventors: Masao Yamada, Yoshihiro Ikeda, Hiraku Yamamoto
