Abstract: Provided is a vertical agitating apparatus which can shorten the time of vertically uniform mixing, uniformalize flow rates in the vertical direction, and shorten the time of heat transmission in a deep liquid agitating tank, an agitating tank having a conical bottom part with an acute apex angle of less than 60 deg. or in a tank combination of the former two tanks, and in which a rotary shaft is arranged in the tank so as to be rotatable by a drive located outside of the tank, bottom paddle blades having a large area are attached to the lower part of the rotary shaft, and lattice blades in combination of vertical grids and horizontal arms are provided to the rotary shaft above the bottom paddle blades, the distance between the outer edge of the vertical blades at the outermost end of the lattice blade and the center of the rotary shaft being set so as to be greater than that of the bottom paddle blades.

Abstract: A melting and holding furnace comprising a preheating and melting chamber defining a preheating tower section in an upper position and a melting section in a lower position, a holding chamber communicating with the melting chamber, and a well communicating with the holding chamber. A melting burner is provided for jetting out flames obliquely downwardly into the melting section.

Abstract: A holding furnace with an automatic melt supplying system comprising a holding chamber for holding a melt at a predetermined temperature, a treating chamber for cleaning the melt, and a melt supplying chamber connected for supplying the melt to a subsequent process. A plug is mounted in an opening intercommunicating the treating chamber and the melt supplying chamber. A force block vertically movably mounted in the melt supplying chamber, the force block being submerged in the melt stored in the melt supplying chamber to supply the melt to the subsequent process when the plug is in a closed position.

Abstract: A melting and holding furnace comprising a melting chamber, a well, and a holding chamber disposed between the melting chamber and the well. The holding chamber includes a plurality of submerged banks projecting from its bottom and extending transversely of a line linking the melting chamber and the well.
