  • Patent number: 10424335
Abstract: An information reproduction apparatus includes plural magazines in which optical discs are set, plural drives for performing recording and reproduction on an optical disc set therein, a changer mechanism that transports a magazine between its setting position and one or more drives and mounts and remove a prescribed optical disc or discs in and from the one or more drives by performing either one of a single move process and a multi-move process, and a controller. The controller judges whether to conduct the single move process or the multi-move process based on a reading data list and use statuses of the respective drives.

  • Publication number: 20180130490
Abstract: A conventional checking method—in which all of the optical disks are selected one by one from the plurality of optical disks stacked in a thickness direction and accommodated in a magazine—takes lots of time for checking. To solve the problem above, the optical disk device has a magazine, a disk drive, and a disk carrier device. The magazine accommodates a plurality of optical disks stacked in the thickness direction of the optical disks. The disk drive checks at least a recording surface facing an inner wall of the magazine of any optical disk of the optical disks accommodated in the magazine. Of the plurality of optical disks stacked and accommodated in the magazine, the disk carrier device takes out an optical disk positioned at an end in the thickness direction and whose recording surface faces the inner wall of the magazine, and carries it to the disk drive.

  • Patent number: 9613649
Abstract: The controller selects one command of the plurality of commands included in the command list. The controller selects one magazine that stores therein one recording medium designated by the one selected command, based on the magazine information, the controller moves the one selected magazine between the storing position of the one selected magazine and the plurality of recorder and player apparatuses using the carrier mechanism. The controller extracts all commands designating recording media stored in the one selected magazine, from the command list, based on the magazine information. The controller moves all the recording media designated by the extracted commands between the one selected magazine and the plurality of recorder and player apparatuses using the carrier mechanism.

  • Patent number: 8085635
Abstract: An optical disc 1 includes a defect management area (DMA). A plurality of defective area lists (TDFLs) and structure information (TDDS) are recorded in a temporary defect management area (TDMS) of the defect management area (DMA). The defective area lists (TDFLs) indicate at least one defective area which was detected during an access to the optical disc 1. The structure information (TDDS) includes a plurality of pieces of position information that indicate positions of the defective area lists (TDFLs). The plurality of pieces of position information, corresponding one-to-one to the defective area lists, are arranged in the structure information (TDDS) in an order in which the defective area lists (TDFLs) corresponding thereto are read out.
