  • Patent number: 8770175
Abstract: An evaporation fuel processing system is equipped with a vapor passage, a canister, a purging passage, a purge control valve, a filling amount detector, and an ECU. The ECU comprises an adsorption amount detecting circuit that detects the adsorption amount of an evaporation fuel, which is adsorbed by the canister upon filling of the fuel at a time when a fuel is filled into a fuel tank, a breakthrough time calculating circuit that calculates a time, based on the detected adsorption amount, at which the canister would experience breakthrough in the event that the evaporation fuel were not purged into an engine from the canister, and a control circuit that carries out purge processing by the purge control valve based on the calculated time.

  • Publication number: 20100252005
Abstract: An evaporative fuel treatment apparatus for a motor vehicle of the present invention treats an evaporative fuel produced in a fuel tank mounted in a motor vehicle or an evaporative fuel in an evaporative fuel reservoir for temporarily storing the evaporative fuel produced in the fuel tank and returns the evaporative fuel to the fuel tank. The evaporative fuel treatment apparatus is activated, while the motor vehicle is parked, by use of electric power supplied from an outside of the motor vehicle or electric power supplied from a natural-energy power generator mounted in the motor vehicle.

  • Patent number: 7261092
Abstract: A system for processing fuel vapor includes a fuel tank having a pressure gauge, a gas separation membrane module having a gas separation membrane for separating fuel vapor into condensed fuel vapor and fuel lean vapor, a fuel-vapor dissolution device for introducing condensed fuel vapor discharged into the fuel tank and dissolving this condensed fuel vapor in fuel, a canister having an adsorption part adsorbing fuel vapor in fuel lean vapor and a desorption device desorbing fuel vapor from the adsorption part, and an ECU programmed to, when the internal pressure of the fuel tank detected by the pressure gauge is at least a predetermined value, drive the pump to actuate the system so as to process fuel vapor.

  • Publication number: 20050257426
Abstract: The present invention provides a method of efficiently reforming an automotive fuel and producing hydrogen continuously at high selectivity and high yield even under conditions of low A/F ratio in the reforming of the automotive fuel using autothermal reforming, and the like., can efficiently reform and produce hydrogen even under conditions of low A/F ratio by using oxygen-enriched air and water vapor in reforming reactions of an automotive fuel and adjusting the molar ratio of the water vapor with respect to the carbon atoms in the automotive fuel to reform the automotive fuel.

  • Publication number: 20050239633
Abstract: The invention provides a method able to remove coke and an unreacted component deposited in an active spot on the surface of a catalyst and restore reduced catalyst activity to efficiently reform fuel for an automobile for a long time. The catalyst activity can be approximately perfectly restored by burning-off the coke and the unreacted component deposited on the surface of the catalyst by using oxygen enrichment air.

  • Patent number: 6637193
Abstract: A natural gas engine capable of exhaust emission control over the entire temperature range and at low costs without requiring a complicated structure. An adsorbent (7) is disposed between a fuel tank (4) and a fuel supply port (5) on a suction air passage (2), and NMOG in the fuel gas supplied to the fuel tank (4) is adsorbed by the adsorbent (7) to purify the fuel gas in advance. When the temperature of a catalyst (11) disposed on an exhaust passage (3) reaches an activation temperature, the adsorbent (7) is heated by a heater (9) to a desorption temperature to desorb NMOG from the adsorbent (7) and purify the NMOG by the catalyst (11).
