  • Patent number: 9336810
Abstract: A method for manufacturing a glass substrate for magnetic disk is provided in which a glass is kept from being fused to a mold during press forming and shape processing to achieve a good circularity is efficiently performed. The method includes: a forming process of forming a disk-shaped glass blank by direct-pressing a molten glass by a pair of dies; and a shape processing process of performing at least one of inner hole formation and outer shape formation for forming a disk-shaped glass substrate by forming a cutting line on the principal face of the glass blank, followed by growing the cutting line to perform cutting. In the forming process, press forming is performed while the temperature of the pair of dies, over a period of time until a molten glass is separated from the die after coming into contact with the die, is set at a temperature lower than a glass transition point (Tg) and a mold release material is not attached to the surfaces of the pair of dies.

  • Publication number: 20050003632
Abstract: A method for cutting a sapphire substrate whose A plane functions as a main surface is carried out after forming a semiconductor device or in order to form a device. Here a just A plane of the sapphire substrate is represented by a (11-20) plane, a line of intersection of the main surface and at least one of a (10-12) plane and a (0-112) plane is defined as a base line and a direction which an angle decreases as it reaches the axis c is defined as a positive direction. In that case, a separation line is formed along a first direction which makes an angle of 0 to 4 degrees with the line of intersection and a second direction which is perpendicular to the first direction.

  • Patent number: 5781572
Abstract: An optical wavelength stabilizing system including a laser diode for emitting signal light, a Peltier element for controlling a temperature of the laser diode, and a drive circuit for driving the Peltier element. The signal light is branched into two components by an optical coupler. In an optical path of one of the two components obtained by the optical coupler, there is inserted an optical filter having a portion whose transmittance continuously changes according to wavelength. The signal light component passed through the portion of the optical filter is detected by a photodetector. An output current from the photodetector is converted into a voltage, which is then input into a comparator. The comparator compares the voltage output from the photodetector and a reference voltage to input a voltage difference therebetween into the drive circuit.

  • Patent number: 5727087
Abstract: In an image processor using image data compression coding of a fixed compression rate, the data of one color of image data is stored in a coding memory without coding, if compression coding is not necessary. If the compression coding is necessary, the data is coded by an encoder by compression coding with a compression rate of 4, and the coded data of four colors, i.e. cyan, magenta, yellow and black, are stored in the coding memory. Since the image data is compressed by a fixed compression rate, it is possible to estimate the quantity of data after compression. As a result, the coding memory can be used effectively, without using a fixed disc unit.

  • Patent number: 5706103
Abstract: An image processing device comprises an encoder for encoding inputted image data in the form of fixed length compression. The encoded data encoded in the form of the fixed length compression by the encoder is stored in a hard disk through an encoded data buffer which is a toggle buffer. Accordingly, the image data can be stored in the hard disk at a constant speed, and a capacity of the encoded data buffer can be minimized since the data amount after data compression is decided. As a result, it is not necessary to provide a semiconductor memory corresponding to storage of one screen, so that a low cost image processing device is obtained.

  • Patent number: 5444544
Abstract: A method of simulating a color image. Firstly, images are displayed and printed, respectively, by means of display device and hard copy unit on the basis of the same image data. Secondly, the image data are subjected to a color conversion process by the use of color conversion parameters having different values from one another, and a plurality of processed images are displayed by the display device. Moreover, from among the processed images being currently displayed there is selected a processed image having substantially the same colors as the image recorded by the hard copy unit, to thereby set the value of the color conversion parameter. Subsequently, a color conversion parameter representing an inverse conversion to the color conversion by way of color conversion parameter which has been set is set into the hard copy unit to thereby print the image based on said image data.

  • Patent number: 5162758
Abstract: There are provided a memory for storing data for calculation of approximate temperature compensation data for the address data outside the temperature compensation range; a discriminator for discriminating whether the address data corresponding to the output from a temperature detector is within the temperature compensation range; a latch circuit for latching the data for calculation of approximate temperature compensation data at the start of operation; a calculator for calculating the approximate temperature compensation data in accordance with the latched data and the address data. The approximate temperature compensation data calculated by the calculator is output as a temperature compensation data when the discriminator discriminates that the address data is outside the temperature compensation range, and D/A converted the temperature compensation. The converted output is used as an oscillation frequency control voltage of the crystal oscillator.

  • Patent number: 4615932
Abstract: A multi-gradation heat sensitive transfer medium for use in multi-gradation thermal transfer for adjusting the density of a transfer print image by superimposing ink layers on a recording medium a plurality of times by thermal transfer, which comprises a foundation and ink layers provided thereon, each of said ink layers containing a color pigment having a high transparency and a high tinting strength in an amount smaller than sufficient to provide a maximal degree of reflection density, and each of said ink layers having a light transmittance of not less than about 65% in a region where the color pigment does not have any absorption band. By superimposing the ink layers of the transfer medium on a recording medium a plurality of times, there is obtained a clear print image having a multiplicity of gradations.

  • Patent number: 4176940
Abstract: An apparatus in which a charger, three developer units and a dryer are mounted on a table reciprocally movable relative to an electrophotographic film for subjecting the film to three cycles of processing each constituting charging, exposing, developing and drying in this recited order so as to produce a color image on the film. The developer units to be operated for the respective cycles are switched by shifting the position of the developer operating means relative to the position of the developer units by the movement of the table. Thereby, a color image can be automatically obtained yet the apparatus is compact and simple in construction.

  • Patent number: 4010031
Abstract: A photosensitive plate includes a transparent electrode layer, a transparent carrier blocking layer of polyvinyl carbazole and a P type photoconductive layer superposed on one another and opposed to a dielectric recording medium with a gap therebetween. While a recording voltage is applied across the electrode layer and recording medium with positive polarity being imparted to the electrode layer, an imaging light irradiates the photoconductive layer to transfer a corresponding electrostatic latent image formed on that layer to the recording medium across the gap. For an N type photoconductive layer, a negative polarity is imparted to the electrode layer.
