  • Patent number: 4706457
Abstract: Described is a working gas pressure control apparatus for a Stirling engine including a pressure boost valve provided in a minimum cycle pressure line connected to a working space by a first unidirectional valve, a pressure reducing valve provided in a maximum cycle pressure line connected to the working space by a second unidirectional valve, an operating lever for controlling the opening and closing of the pressure boost and pressure reducing valves, a compressor connected by the pressure reducing and the pressure boost valve to the cycle pressure lines, an unloading valve arranged in a circuit short-circuiting suction and discharge lines of the compressor, and a control unit for opening the unloading valve when engine rpm falls to a value lower than a preset rpm for engine idling, when the pressure boost valve is open and when the engine is operating in the steady state, thereby minimizing compressor load.

  • Patent number: 4677824
Abstract: A Stirling engine control apparatus includes a pressure reducing valve provided in a maximum cycle pressure line connecting a working space to a working gas compressor and a working gas tank via a first check valve, a pressure boost valve provided in a minimum cycle pressure line connecting the working space to the working gas storage tank via a second check valve, an operating lever pivotable about a movable fulcrum for controlling opening and closing of the pressure reducing valve and the pressure boost valve, a movable member on which the movable fulcrum of the operating lever is provided, and control means for positionally shifting the movable member upon comparing a target pressure corresponding to displacement of the operating lever and pressure within the minimum cycle pressure line.

  • Patent number: 4231347
Abstract: A fuel pressure-regulating valve for an electronic fuel injection system for internal combustion engines including a body member having an inlet port and an outlet port, a diaphragm dividing the interior of the body member into two chambers, a piston secured to the diaphragm and having a hollow stem with a fuel passageway therethrough, a valve responsive to the movement of the piston for controlling the communication between the inlet port and outlet port, and a bushing inserted securely in the hollow stem of the piston. Aligned apertures in the hollow stem and the bushing provide communication between the inlet port and the valve, the outer periphery of the bushing adjacent the apertures therein being flattened to provide gaps between the bushing and the hollow stem for preventing reduction of flow through the aligned aperture in case of slight misalignment of the apertures.

  • Patent number: 4216938
Abstract: A solenoid actuated valve device for electrically controlling the flow of fluid in response to electric signals. The valve device comprises a body member defining an internal chamber, a core being made of a magnetic material and comprising a central hollow portion, a bobbin slidably mounted on the core, a solenoid coil wound on the bobbin, a permanent magnet the magnetic flux of which may intersect at right angles to the winding of the solenoid coil, a yoke being made of a magnetic material and forming a magnetic circuit of the core, passages formed on the core, a sliding valve controlling the open area of the passages in response to the movement of the bobbin, and a spring biasing the bobbin so that the sliding valve may close the passages, whereby the flow of fluid may be controlled in proportion to the electric current.
