  • Patent number: 8551423
Abstract: It is possible to correctly determine whether a change in the pressure or flow rate is caused by normal opening and closing operations of a check valve and to monitor in real time whether an operation of a check valve is normal or abnormal in a liquid supply device. Light is introduced in the check valve and a change in the quantity of light transmitted through or reflected by the check valve, caused by the opening and closing of the valve is detected, so that the opening and closing operations of the check valve can be directly detected. The check valve is arranged in a pipe in the liquid supply device, and a change in the pressure in the pipe is monitored on the basis of a signal from a pressure sensor and a signal which represents the opening and closing of the check valve.

  • Patent number: 8491280
Abstract: An oil-flooded screw compressor drives a pair of rotors at a rotational speed which is low enough not to increase torque for a short amount of time after start-up and accelerates the pair of rotors up to a normal-operation rotational speed after oil discharge. Alternatively, the oil-flooded screw compressor rotates the pair of rotors for a short amount of time after the remaining compressed gas is discharged after a halt, thereby allowing the oil accumulated inside the working chambers to be discharged and ensuring smooth start-up after the halt.

  • Publication number: 20110259673
Abstract: In a method for utilizing a wedge engagement mechanism as means for retaining an output shaft without requiring a large driving power, there is a need for preventing fatigue life of an actuator from being reduced as a result of stress at contacting portions of parts of wedge engagement portions of the wedge engagement mechanism becoming large. In a linear actuator that converts rotary motion of a drive unit for rotation to linear motion through a rotary motion-to-linear motion conversion mechanism, a one-way mechanism is disposed upstream of the rotary motion-to-linear motion conversion mechanism in a rotational drive path, to thereby inhibit, with a small wedge engagement force, the output shaft from being driven by an external force, achieving reduction in the stress at the contacting portions.

  • Publication number: 20100028165
Abstract: When an oil-flooded screw compressor is started up in a cold environment after a long halt, start-up torque increases due to the increased viscosity of the oil that has long stayed inside the working chambers of the compressor. This has necessitated drive means with a larger capacity than that required for normal operation. An oil-flooded screw compressor according to the invention comprises: a casing; a pair of rotors each having screw-thread-shaped groove and being housed in the casing; an electric motor for rotationally driving the pair of rotors; a control device for controlling the electric motor; an oil feeding mechanism for feeding oil into working chambers formed by being enclosed by the casing and the pair of rotors in which teeth thereof are meshed to each other; and an oil separating mechanism for separating the oil from compressed gas discharged from the working chambers.

  • Publication number: 20080189040
Abstract: According to the present invention, an obstacle detection means detects an obstacle. An action range presumption unit presumes an action range in which the obstacle can exist in a predetermined time if the obstacle accelerates, decelerates, or turns on the basis of the moving performance of the obstacle detected by the obstacle detection means. An action probability presumption unit presumes a probability of the obstacle existing in the action range on the basis of the conditions of the road on which a host vehicle and the obstacle exist and the action history of the obstacle. A driving operation support unit determines a target locus which prevents the host vehicle from moving into the presumed action range or to a position where the action probability is high and generates vehicle control information necessary for making the host vehicle run along the target locus. The driving operation support unit gives the driver instructions and warnings and assists the driver with driving operation support operations.

  • Publication number: 20070144861
Abstract: A clutch mechanism includes: an input rotary member for receiving an input torque; a hub for receiving the torque from the input rotary member; first friction discs held by the hub; second friction discs arranged to be pressed against the first friction discs to achieve a torque-transmitting engagement therebetween; a drum supporting the second friction discs and stopped by the drum support bearing against movement in one axial direction; and an output rotary member for receiving the torque from the drum. Transmission of the torque from the drum to the output rotary member is achieved by a spline coupling therebetween. Axial movement of the drum in one direction is stopped by an end surface of a drum support bearing mounted in a housing. The hub is splined to the input rotary member for axial movement relative to the rotary input member.
