  • Patent number: 11953220
Abstract: A comfort-analyzing device includes a display unit, a first control unit, an input unit, and a cognitive-structure constructing unit. The display unit is configured to present a questionnaire for extracting both a comfort level of a user in an environment and at least one environmental factor to determine the comfort level. The first control unit is configured to cause the display unit to present the questionnaire twice or more during a survey period. The input unit is configured to accept, from the user, input of each reply to the questionnaire presented twice or more. The cognitive-structure constructing unit is configured to construct a cognitive-structure model representing a cognitive structure of the user regarding comfort by extracting both the comfort level and the at least one environmental factor in chronological order based on each reply to the questionnaire presented twice or more.

  • Patent number: 11927517
Abstract: A resonance shear measurement device (1) of the present invention includes an upper unit (10) having a piezoelectric element (15), an upper disk substrate (16), and a spring (17), and a lower unit (11) having a lower disk substrate (14), in which a sample insertion portion (21) is formed between a lower surface of the upper disk substrate (16) and an upper surface of the lower disk substrate (14), the piezoelectric element (15) and the upper disk substrate (16) are vibratably connected to a fixed apparatus 30 via the spring (17), a strain gauge (19) is attached to the spring (17), and by applying an AC voltage to the piezoelectric element (15) while changing a frequency of the AC voltage, a response voltage at the resonance from the strain gauge (19) due to a vibration of the upper unit (10) is measured.

  • Patent number: 9517642
Abstract: A decision is made for each page as to whether to allow image printing on that page, by comparing the remaining sheet length DL with a length of an image about to be printed, IL. A length of a non-printed, rear-end cut sheet is also checked to determine whether the non-printed cut sheet needs to be further cut into smaller sheets. This arrangement can prevent a complete image to be printed in one page from being broken and only partly printed in the last portion of a paper roll, ensure that printed cut sheets and non-printed cut sheets are stably conveyed and discharged and enable the non-printed cut sheets to be almost equal in size so that they can be properly accommodated in the associated tray.

  • Patent number: 9102169
Abstract: An image forming apparatus includes a control unit arranged to control an image forming unit so as to form images based on image information and to form maintenance images for maintaining the image forming unit. The control unit is arranged to control the image forming unit so as to form images on the second side of the sheet after forming images on the first side of the sheet, and so as to form the maintenance images on the second side at positions such that the maintenance images do not overlap with the images based on the image information formed on the first side.

  • Patent number: 6999194
Abstract: The objective of the present invention is to solve a problem that a printing throughput is not improved so much in a conventional printing processing device arranged for example in a serial printer such as an ink-jet printer etc., due to a requirement to repeat printing in the main scanning direction and feeding a paper in the sub scanning direction, until a blank area where the printing is not allowed is confirmed in printing different data on respective discrete papers. To fulfill the objective a function to supply the succeeding paper while the current paper is held in the printer and means to change supplying conditions of the paper and to adjust overlapping extent of papers are arranged in a device where a print operation is executed by a combination of the printing in the main scanning direction and paper feeding in the sub scanning direction.

  • Patent number: 6006294
Abstract: The invention relates to communication processing system and communication processing method which can process data at a high speed by efficiently and smoothly executing data processings for transmission and reception. The system has small scale memory areas which are independent in layers and a large scale memory area which is common to the layers. Data of a small size is transferred to the small scale memory areas and the large scale memory area is released.
