Abstract: In a system in which terminals having mutually differing communication attributes perform communication so as to bridge one or a plurality of networks, to provide a method for automatic capture of a communication attribute converting apparatus in a switching apparatus for the control of automatic capture and control of communication attributes of the terminals, if there is a communication attribute converting apparatus which is capable of converting the communication attributes in a station containing a calling terminal, the convertible communication attributes are entered into the information elements of a call setting message of a call setting message and the message is sent to the station containing the receiving terminal.

Abstract: With regard to a method of controlling station-to-station transmission in a network formed by exchanges which support ISDN, and particularly for the purpose of implementing, during communication between stations via one medium, slave transmission with respect to the same party using a different medium, without consideration of the number of the party, when an exchange which receives a request for slave transmission from a terminal in communication via one medium with an already-communicating terminal of another station detects this request, a slave transmission identifier and the call reference used to connect to the already-communicating terminal are detected, the slave transmission identifier and call reference are set into the information elements to be added to a call setting message, a different channel in the same interface which is used to connect to the already-communicating terminal is captured, this being used to transmit to the other station.

Abstract: A switching service control unit of a switchboard, when a first terminal performing a multi-call communication based on a plurality of media with a second terminal makes a request of transferring the communication call to a third terminal, discriminates a media attribute used for the multi-call communication conducted by the first terminal with reference to connection data held by a memory. The switching service control unit discriminates whether or not the third terminal is capable of controlling this media characteristic with reference to the terminal attribute held by the memory. The switching service control unit, when discriminating that the third terminal is capable of controlling that media attribute, transfers the multi-call communication conducted by the first terminal to the third terminal.
