    Abstract: A radar apparatus calculates distances or relative speeds of a target according to a plurality of formulae. An predicted distance calculation formula is obtained at the following observation from the distances or the relative speeds thus calculated. A determination is made as to whether the distance calculation formula at the current observation is equal to the predicted distance calculation formula, and only when they are equal to each other, the result of the calculation is output. A distance, a relative speed and a distance calculation formula at the following observation are calculated, and a determination is made as to whether there is a correlation between the result at the current observation and the result of the prediction section. Only the result of the calculation at the current time point is output in the presence of a correlation.

An azimuth angle calculation section of a signal processing part calculates azimuth angles in up and down phases, and an azimuth angle determination section of the signal processing part selects an output content of observation data concerning a target to be detected from the amplitude of a difference between the azimuth angles in up and down phase.

    Abstract: The present invention discriminates between moving targets and stationary targets in order to measure distances and speeds of the targets without producing a false target. The invention transmits signals whose modulating frequencies ascend or descend to a target, and receives signals reflected from this target. A frequency spectrum of a beat signal of each target is detected during a modulating frequency ascent period and a modulating frequency descent period. The frequency spectrum of the modulating frequency ascent period and the frequency spectrum of the modulating frequency descent period are used to set a reference spectrum. The reference beat frequencies of either the moving targets or the stationary targets are detected based upon the reference spectrum.

Reception signals are given from a range divide and output circuit to a plurality of integration point variable coherent integrators, each of which is allocated to a different range domain. The range domain is given to an integration point setting section provided corresponding to each integration point variable coherent integrator. The integration point setting section determines the number of coherent integration points based on the given range domain and sets it in the corresponding integration point variable coherent integrator. The signal resulting from coherent integration by the integration point variable coherent integrator is discriminated to frequencies, then supplied to any square detector for square detection for each frequency component. Square detection output is fed into a CFAR detector, which then makes its false alarm rate constant for a supply to a display, etc.
