    Abstract: According to an aspect, a display device, includes: a display panel having a display region in which a plurality of pixels are provided; a plurality of temperature sensors; and a control integrated circuit (IC) configured to control operations of the display panel and the temperature sensors. A plurality of temperature detection regions in which the temperature sensors are arranged are provided to overlap the display region. The display region has a plurality of partial regions that overlap the temperature detection regions, respectively. The control IC is provided capable of controlling the display region on a partial region basis. At least either signal lines of the display panel or scan lines of the display panel, and the temperature sensors are coupled to the control IC.

A display area of the liquid crystal display panel, the scattering area, and the temperature detection area overlap one another. The projection light that has passed through the display area and the scattering area is projected onto a light-transmitting projection target. When an output indicating that the temperature of the resistor element is a predetermined temperature or higher is acquired, the controller causes the scattering portion to scatter light.
