  • Patent number: 7340822
Abstract: A stator for a motor includes a stator core, an insulator, and coils. The stator core includes an annular portion and teeth, which extend radially from the annular portion. The stator core is divided into core segments in the circumferential direction. Each core segment has an arcuate portion and one of the teeth, which extends from the arcuate portion. The insulator insulates each coil wound around one of the teeth from the stator core. The insulator includes coupling portions at positions corresponding to the circumferential ends of the arcuate portions. Each coupling portion couples the adjacent core segments to be rotatable relative to each other. The insulator facilitates manufacture of the stator.

  • Patent number: 6856066
Abstract: A brush device has a brush that slides against an outer circumferential surface of a cylindrical rotor. The brush device includes a base member, a terminal retained by the base member, an electric wire, which connects the brush to the terminal, and a cylindrical brush holder. The brush holder is located on the base member. The brush holder has a holder axis, which extends along the radial direction of the rotor. The brush is accommodated in and retained by the brush holder and is movable along the holder axis. The brush holder has an opening portion, which is formed at the outer portion of the brush holder with respect to the radial direction of the rotor. The opening portion permits the brush to pass along a direction perpendicular to the holder axis.

  • Patent number: 6198189
Abstract: In a motor driven device, a yoke of a motor has a flange at a side of its opening. An end plate sized smaller than the flange is formed with tongues on its outer circumferential periphery so that the end plate is press-fit in position in the yoke through the tongues. An annular packing is disposed around an annular ring part of the end plate so that the packing encircles the end plate when the flange of the yoke is fixed to a housing of a pump. The packing fluid-tightly seals the inside of the yoke from an outside.

  • Patent number: 6079659
Abstract: A method of winding an armature of a four-poled dc motor composed of the armature having (4m+1) slots and a commutator having the same number of commutator segments as the slots. The method employs a first and second coil formers. Each of formers has a pair of guiding surfaces around the armature so that the first coil former is located at a pair of slots to be wound at a m-slot pitch and the second former is located at another pair of slots to be wound at a m-slot pitch. Then, two wires are respectively wound on the first and second coil formers concurrently to be guided into the pairs of slots to be wound respectively. Subsequently, the armature is rotated by an angle 180+180/(4m+1) so that two wires can be wound repeatedly. Thereafter, the armature is rotated, and the wire is wound on the first coil former only to be guided into another pair of slots. This step is repeated three times.
