  • Patent number: 4605938
Abstract: A recording apparatus of thermal transfer type includes a thermal head having a plurality of linearly-arrayed heat generating elements selectively generating heat in response to the application of a character and pattern information signal providing the thermal transfer energy, and a carrier having a coating of a thermally transferably recording material. A recording medium recording character and pattern information is disposed between the carrier and a platen roller to be transported by the platen roller. At the time of recording character and pattern information on the recording medium, the thermal transfer energy is applied to the heat generating elements corresponding to the character and pattern information signal while pressing the thermal head against the platen roller. During the recording, the thermal transfer energy is controlled to correspond to the required density tone of the character and pattern information to be recorded.

  • Patent number: 4562443
Abstract: A thermal transfer color recording apparatus comprises a transfer sheet in which a plurality of color inks adapted to be thermally transferred are arrayed in a large number of regions, and a thermal head in which a plurality of heat generating elements adapted to generate heat in response to a picture recording signal are arrayed in the form of a line. The transfer sheet and a recording medium placed one over the other are conveyed in a forward or reverse direction by a platen roller while being depressed by the thermal head, and only the transfer sheet is conveyed without the depression of the thermal head.

  • Patent number: 4499512
Abstract: A magnetic recording and reproducing apparatus including a reel drive system having a first transmitting path for high-speed magnetic tape feed, and a second transmitting path for constant-speed magnetic tape feed. The first transmitting path includes a drive pulley for driving a pair of magnetic tape reels through oscillating idler means which is supported on a support shaft located on a bisector perpendicular to the center of the pair of magnetic tape reels to directly transmit the rotation of a reversible motor to the drive pulley. The second transmitting path transmits the rotation of the reversible motor through a slip mechanism to obtain a predetermined output torque. One of the two transmitting path is selected for each operation mode as switching of the operation modes is effected.

  • Patent number: 4437129
Abstract: A magnetic recording and reproducing apparatus having a single electromagnet for driving an idler mechanism for driving a take-up reel mount in a forward playback operation, a brake mechanism for a supply reel in a forward playback operation and a brake mechanism for the take-up reel mount. A high speed capstan-driven tape transport in both forward and reverse directions is attained by a simple construction.

  • Patent number: 4345282
Abstract: A system for bringing a wire-shaped or tape-shaped carrier into contact with a carrier guide member in a predetermined position includes carrier withdrawing guide members each movable between an operative position in which the carrier is brought into contact with the carrier guide member and an inoperative position in which the carrier is out of contact with the carrier guide member. A plurality of strip-shaped power transmitting members formed to be flexible and connected at one end thereof to the carrier withdrawing guide members respectively are each slidably fitted in one of guide grooves of a guide groove member formed as an insert on the base. A drive connected to a motor is in engagement with the strip-shaped power transmitting members to drive the same and move the carrier withdrawing guide members connected to the strip-shaped power transmitting members, whereby the carrier withdrawing guide members can be moved between the operative and inoperative positions.

  • Patent number: 4309731
Abstract: A motor-driven mechanism for pulling magnetic tape from a cassette and winding same around a rotary head cylinder for a circumferential extent of a predetermined angle is utilized for causing the pinch roller to force the magnetic tape against the capstan following tape loading.

  • Patent number: 4258399
Abstract: A magnetic recording and reproducing apparatus, in which a magnetic tape is automatically mounted on a tape guiding drum containing rotary magnetic heads for the recording and reproduction of signals on and from the tape, is provided with a pair of tape drawing and mounting members which are engageable with a tape in a cassette mounted on the apparatus and movable along guide slots in guide board to draw the tape out of the cassette to a position in which the tape is mounted on and extends around the tape guiding drum. The tape drawing and mounting members are operatively connected to chains. Drive mechanism is provided to wind and unwind the chains so that the chains are moved along guide members to thereby move the tape drawing and mounting members, respectively, away from the cassette for the required tape drawing and mounting operation.

  • Patent number: 4212040
Abstract: A tape recorder is disclosed in which the movement of the pinch roller toward and away from the capstan, the movement of the take-up roller toward and away from the take-up reel mount and the movement of the brake plate toward and away from the take-up and supply reel mounts are performed by a single control board having three control sections. The movement of the control board is associated with that of the head base plate carrying a magnetic head and movable between a stop position and a playback position. When the head base plate moves to the playback position, the control board moves together with the head base plate by the elasticity of the spring member tensioned therebetween, whereby the three types of movements make possible the desired playback state. In response to an external operation for a pause, the control board alone is moved to the stop position, thus turning the three types of movements into a pause mode.
