  • Patent number: 4469337
Abstract: A sealing boot of elastomeric material for hermetically enclosing an annular opening between a support member and a movable member axially reciprocable on the support member, the sealing boot including a tubular bellows which is integrally formed at one end thereof with a first cylindrical sealing sleeve portion coupled over the support member and at the other end thereof with a second cylindrical sealing sleeve portion coupled within the movable member, the sealing boot being characterized in that the first cylindrical sealing sleeve portion being connected substantially at its center to the one end of the tubular bellows and being formed at its inner end shoulder with an annular thick wall tapering radially toward the inner wall surface of the tubular bellows.

  • Patent number: 4296841
Abstract: An antirattle spring for a disc brake is represented as being entirely disposed outside of a clearance between one of a plurality of edges of pad assemblies and a stationary member anchoring against the one edge. Consequently, the antirattle spring is freed from any restraint as would otherwise be imposed upon a designer of a more complicated and smaller sized configuration of the spring, and is therefore more likely to retain its resiliency than are prior art antirattle springs. The antirattle spring has one end thereof bolted to the stationary member and the other end thereof engaging one of the plurality of edges with a required elastic energy stored within the middle portion of the spring.

  • Patent number: 4121699
Abstract: In a sliding type disk brake assembly having a caliper movable on a pair of shoulders of a support member, a fluid actuator on one side of the caliper to press an inner brake shoe against one face of a rotary disk, and a reaction portion on the opposite side of the caliper to press an outer brake shoe against the other face of the disk, the reaction portion being provided substantially at its central portion with a pair of rectangular shaped recesses and the backing plate of the outer brake shoe having a pair of abutment flanges engaged within the recesses, the length dimension of the backing plate being smaller than the spacing between the two shoulders of the support member.
