    Abstract: A name data associating device according to one embodiment associates synonymous name data having different notation between a first database (DB) holding adjacency information and a second DB holding adjacency information and path identification information, and includes: a path information extraction unit that generates all paths having common data common between both DBs as a starting point and the name data in the second DB as vertices, and extracts path information of each path; a path creation unit that, based on the information held by the first DB, generates paths having the same conditions as the extracted path information of each path; and an associating unit that associates the name data between the first and second DBs by extracting, from the generated paths, a combination of paths having more vertices passed through and fewer overlapping parts, and associating the vertices of each extracted path with the vertices of each path generated by the path information extraction unit.

Next, when the received remote control signal matches the qualified remote control signal stored in the signal storage part, control is performed such that the electric device performs a predetermined operation. The conditions for the qualified remote control signal include, for example, that a pulse count is within a range of a predetermined number, and that a pulse width is within a range of a predetermined length.

    Abstract: A router emits an infrared ray based on a signal for operating a video recorder to the video recorder at a request made by any one of personal computers connected to the router through a network. In response to the infrared ray based on a signal for operating the video recorder, the video recorder outputs analog signals to the router through cables. The router then converts the analog signals into audio and video digital signals. Subsequently, the router outputs the digital signals to the personal computer making the request by way of the network. Then, the personal computer making the request outputs a sound based on the audio digital signal and displays a picture based on the video digital signal. As a result, the router allows an analog apparatus such as the video recorder to be connected to the network in a simple configuration.

In the recording region (AR.sub.C) for control of the disk-like recording medium are provided a clock data pit (Q.sub.B), a pair of tracking data bit (Q.sub.A, Q.sub.C) positioned inside and outside a track center line (K.sub.C) being separated at a predetermined distance from the clock data pit (Q.sub.B), and a pair of traverse data pits (Q.sub.D,Q.sub.E) being separated from each other at a distance allotted depending upon the recording tracks (TK). In recording or reproducing the data using a light beam, the clocks are reliably reproduced under a stable tracking condition, and traverses can be counted.

    Abstract: A disc type brushless motor comprising a rotor provided with a field magnet having two or more poles, and a stator on which loop-like armature windings are flatly positioned opposite to the field magnet in quantity of two or more in the circumferential direction and in two stages or more in the radial direction.
