  • Patent number: 11943233
Abstract: An electronic control unit is connected to a network in an in-vehicle network system. The electronic control unit includes a first control circuit and a second control circuit. The first control circuit is connected to the network via the second control circuit. The second control circuit performs a first determination process on a frame to determine conformity of the frame with a first rule. Upon determining that the frame conforms to the first rule, the second control circuit transmits the frame to the first control circuit. The first control circuit performs a second determination process on the frame to determine conformity of the frame with a second rule. The second rule is different from the first rule.

  • Patent number: 6711014
Abstract: A modular personal computer of the present invention includes inlet and outlet openings for a cooling air flow, which are provided on a side portion of a housing disposed opposite to a desktop connection device, with the openings being spaced from each other across a central processing unit, and air passages extending between the inlet and outlet openings in an overlapping manner. Static pressure near the outlet opening is reduced by a diffuser. Air inside the modular personal computer is drawn out through the outlet opening to create negative pressure inside the modular personal computer, so that the cooling air flow is introduced from the inlet opening.

  • Publication number: 20030154291
Abstract: A modular computer system includes a core unit comprising a processor and a memory; a removable modular accessory; a docking connector for connecting the accessory to the core unit; and one or more subsystems contained within the accessory. The system is partitioned such that any of the cooling, power or input/output subsystems can be disposed within the modular accessory such that these subsystems can be removed from the system by removing the accessory. The core unit by itself is not useful to a user because it lacks power, cooling, or a user interface. The core unit can be connected into any of a variety of accessories and it adapts its functions to the system resources provided by each type of accessory.

  • Patent number: 6493226
Abstract: A radiation structure is employed in electronic apparatus such as a laptop computer having a body containing a heat generating element (e.g. CPU) and a display, rotatably connected to the body. The radiation structure transfers heat from the CPU to the outside of the apparatus and includes a first heatpipe; a hinge member connected to the host heatpipe for receiving heat therefrom; a second heatpipe for transferring heat from the hinge member to a radiation member placed in the display, one end of the second heatpipe being arranged substantially coaxially with the center of rotation of the display; and a sleeve member arranged in the hinge member coaxially with respect to the center of rotation of the display, the sleeve member being inserted from the outside into the inside of the display together with a portion of the second heatpipe which projects from the hinge member.

  • Patent number: 6301101
Abstract: An information processing apparatus which comprises a main body in a flat, plane box shape, a flat input section provided on the front surface of the main body, a stand, provided on the rear surface of the main body, having two or more tilting positions relative to the main body where It is preferable that the stand has a retracted position wherein the stand falls down into the rear surface of the main body, a first tilt position where the main body in-clines at a relatively small angle to a desk surface, and a second tilt position where the main body inclines at a relatively large angle to the desk surface. In the first tilting position, the main body is inclined slightly toward the front relative to the desk surface. With the main body thus positioned, it is easy to manipulate a pen held against the input face of the input section. In the second tilt position, the main body is held almost upright relative to the desk surface.

  • Patent number: 6259597
Abstract: A touch panel section, which is formed by affixing transparent resistive film sheets onto both of front and back surfaces of a transparent glass plate respectively, is rotatably mounted between a keyboard and a flat panel display each being provided in a portable electronic device such as a notebook computer. The touch panel section is rotated toward the flat panel display or keyboard for selectively switching the involved input methods. That is, with the introduction of the rotatable touch panel section into the portable electronic device, it becomes possible to support three different input operations; an input operation by a fingertip (tablet function), a handwritten input operation (digitizer function) by a pen and a conventional input operation by the keyboard.

  • Patent number: 6115160
Abstract: A plurality of wireless data output mechanisms (LEDs) are loaded at different angles to each other into a wireless communication apparatus, and a movable shutter for selecting at least one of the LEDs is located in front of the LEDs. The shutter has an output hole that is so formed that the selection of an arbitrary LED is possible, and as the shutter is shifted to shield unnecessary LEDs, it is possible to select only a desired LED. To select all the LEDs, the shutter is moved to a position where it does not shield any of the LEDs. With this arrangement, the direction for wireless communication can be easily set and the directivity of communication can be improved without reducing the light emission output.
