  • Publication number: 20200130386
Abstract: A print apparatus includes a holding unit to hold a roll sheet obtained by winding a sheet, a driving unit, a separation flapper, a pressure contact roller, a print unit, a displacement sensor, and a control unit. The driving unit rotates the held roll sheet. The separation flapper follows a roll sheet surface to separate the sheet from the roll sheet. The pressure contact roller comes into pressure contact with the roll sheet surface. The print unit prints an image on the sheet supplied by rotating the roll sheet in pressure contact with the pressure contact roller in a forward direction. The displacement sensor detects a separation flapper displacement amount according to separation flapper rotation when the sheet is supplied to the print unit after a roll sheet front end is detected. The control unit stops the roll sheet rotation when the amount of displacement exceeds a threshold.

  • Patent number: 10597247
Abstract: Automatic sheet feeding of an installed roll is performed more reliably. To this end, a leading end of a sheet is detected on the basis of a change in an output value of a sensor while causing a roll to rotate in a winding direction using a sensor capable of detecting a distance to the sheet separated from the roll. After the detection, the roll is caused to rotate in a feeding direction, and a feeding state of the sheet is determined on the basis of a change in the output value of the sensor.

  • Patent number: 10421299
Abstract: In a sheet supply apparatus, a type of sheet to be used can be specified using a sensor that detects a sheet separated from a roll at the time of automatic sheet feeding. The sheet supplying apparatus includes a driving unit configured to cause a roll including a wound consecutive sheet to rotate in a first direction for feeding the sheet or a second direction opposite to the first direction, a sensor that detects the sheet separated from an outer circumferential surface of the roll, and a specifying unit. • Patent number: 10110757
Abstract: According to an embodiment of this invention, the following processing is performed to solve a problem of accurately determining an abnormal state in a carriage by using an acceleration sensor. Output values from a plurality of acceleration sensors mounted in locations which have low degrees of mechanical/physical coupling in a carriage and a printing apparatus main body are transformed into data in a frequency domain. Subsequently, a carriage operation abnormality and a level of the abnormal state are determined based on a plurality of acceleration values in the frequency domain and a comparison of magnitudes of the acceleration values.
