Abstract: A connector to be detachably fitted with a connecting object such as a flexible printed circuit board or flexible flat cable, includes a plurality of contacts each having a contact portion adapted to contact the connecting object, a housing arranging and holding therein the contacts and having a fitting opening into which the connecting object is inserted, and a pivoting member rotatably or pivotally mounted on the housing. According to the invention, an auxiliary member having an engaging unit for engaging the pivoting member is mounted on the pivoting member at its predetermined position. With the aid of the auxiliary member, the pivoting member can be easily rotated or pivotally moved.

Abstract: A fixture for a floating connector is to be mounted on a substrate and has at one end a connection portion to be connected to the substrate. The two fixtures are used in the floating connector including a plurality of contacts, an insulator fixing the contacts therein and having flanges, and a housing covering the insulator and fixing the contacts therein. The fixtures each include at the other end an anchoring bent piece adapted to engage the flange of the insulator to prevent the insulator from floating upwardly to an excessive extent. The floating connector using the fixtures is able to completely prevent the contacts from being buckled or deformed to an excessive extent when the floating connector is being fitted with or removed from a mating connector.

The housing is provided on the side of the fitting opening with recesses which are continuous with the inserting holes, respectively, and opening into the fitting direction of the connector, and tips of the contact portions of the contacts are positioned in the recesses, respectively, even in the state that the first connecting object has not been fitted in the connector. The recesses are respectively independent from one another corresponding to the contacts.

Abstract: An electrical connector includes a plurality of contacts, an insulator for receiving the contacts, and guides provided at both ends of the insulator's lengthwise direction. The connector includes push bars inserted in the guides of the insulator, respectively. Each of the push bars has at its one end an anchor portion for engaging a circuit board or a mating connector, an engaging portion at the other end, and a spring piece between the anchor and engaging portions. The connector further includes cams disposed in mounting portions provided at bottoms of the guides at both the ends of the insulator, respectively. Each of the cams has an anchor portion at its one end engageable the engaging portion of the push bar and has a support consisting of pivot pins on the side of the other end for pivotal movement of the cam. The engaging portion of each the push bar is connected to the anchor portion of one of the cams.
