  • Patent number: 7359134
Abstract: A disk storage device has a plurality of disk faces and a plurality of heads. The disk storage device protects the data on the disk face for a head before the defect of the head occurs. For each head, a table for accumulating the error generation count generated by the operation of a head is provided. And a control unit predicts the defect of one head based on the accumulated error generation count, reads data on the corresponding disk face by the head of which the defect was predicted, and writes the read data to another corresponding disk face by another head. Since the defect of a head can be predicted, the data can be protected in advance.

  • Patent number: 4906683
Abstract: Partially crosslinked thermoplastic elastomer which is produced as follows:(A) propylene (10-90 weight part), (B) halogenated butyl rubber (90-10 weight part, (A)+(B)=100 weight part), (C) olefinic rubber (10-120 weight part) and (D) mineral oil softening agent (5-120 weight part) are heated in the presence of (E) metal oxide and/or metal chloride. To the composition based on (A)-(E) (100 weight part), (F) polyolefin (300-1900 weight part) and (G) styrenic rubber (50-1100 weight part) are blended. The composition has particularly good moldability, compatibility, low temperature impact strength, and gloss, and can be used for large scale molding.

  • Patent number: 4873288
Abstract: A two-step process for production of thermoplastic elastomer, which comprises dynamically vulcanizing polypropylene and olefinic rubber in the presence of peroxide (1st step), and dynamically vulcanizing the vulcanized mixture, polypropylene and halogenated butyl rubber in the presence of zinc oxide (2nd step). In another method (a) polyolefin and olefin rubber are dynamically cross-linked in the presence of an organic peroxide and (b) in a separate second operation a dynamically vulcanized blend comprising polyolefin and halogenated butyl rubber is prepared and mixed with (a) to disperse (a) and (b) in one another. The thermoplastic elastomer composition is useful in materials for parts of automobiles. In an example, pp 9 wt. % parts, EPDM 21 wt. % parts, peroxide 0.3 wt. % part and divinylbenzene 0.5 wt. % part were blended and supplied to the first hopper (1) of biaxial extruder as shown in a figure. In the first blending zone (2), temperature and residence time are 200.degree. C.

  • Patent number: 4871796
Abstract: A method of producing compounds in which the rubber phase contains a polyolefin and a halobutyl rubber, which is partially crosslinked, to which composition is then added additional polyolefin and a vulcanizable olefinic rubber, which is then further crosslinked using organic peroxides, and then blended with a styrenic rubber. The TPE compounds incorporate (A) polypropylene 10-90 weight parts (wt. pts.), (B) halobutyl rubber 90-10 wt. pts. (where (A)+(B)=100), (C) an olefinic rubber 10-120 wt. pts., (D) mineral oil softener 5-120 wt. pts., which are then treated thermally in the presence of (E) MOx and/or MCl, to which composition of 100 weight parts is added (F) polyolefin 100-600 wt. pts., and (G) a vulcanizable olefinic rubber 50-500 wt. pts. The resulting blend is then thermally treated with (H) organic peroxide(s), to which blend of 100 wt. pts. is then added and uniformly dispersed (I) 5-150 wt. pts. of styrenic rubber.
