  • Patent number: 9047073
Abstract: A small-sized connecting appliance is provided. An electronic appliance includes: a connecting section including a power-supply terminal and a connecting terminal to be connected to a connecting appliance; a detecting section that detects the potential of the connecting terminal; a power source control section that starts supplying power via the power-supply terminal; and an appliance recognizing section that recognizes the type of the connecting appliance based on the result of detecting the potential of the connecting terminal after the power supply start. A computer readable medium causes a computer to perform: detecting the potential of a connecting terminal connected to a connecting appliance; starting power supply via a power-supply terminal included in a connecting section that connects to the connecting appliance; and recognizing the type of the connecting appliance based on the result of detecting the potential of the connecting terminal after the power supply start.

  • Patent number: 5745491
Abstract: A system for storing variable transfer rate data sets and for multiplexing and outputting requested data sets on demand, comprises a memory for storing transfer rate information for each of the variable transfer rate data sets. On receiving a request for one of the data sets, an output start timing for the requested data set is set for such an earliest frame that, if the output of the requested data set is started at the frame period, the total transfer rate does not exceed a predetermined transfer rate throughout the transmission period of the requested data set.

  • Patent number: 5717641
Abstract: A method of storing data comprises the steps of: storing at least a set of coded real-time data having packets respectively having variable coding data rates per a predetermined interval in a data memory; detecting a maximum among the variable coding data rates; storing data of the maximum in a control data memory; selectively reading at least the see of coded real-time data in response to a demand; adding dummy data to read at least the set of coded real-time data such that the resultant data has a fixed data rate equal to or more than the data of maximum from the control data memory per the predetermined interval; and outputting the resultant data. A data storing apparatus embodying the method mentioned above is also disclosed. The data storing apparatus may further comprise a receiving circuit for receiving coded data output demanding data including a desired data rate and for supplying the desired data rate to the adding circuit.
