  • Patent number: 9950133
Abstract: A heat and moisture exchanger includes: a heat and moisture exchanger material formed by coiling a strip-shaped porous body, the porous body having a plurality of slits formed therein that are arranged along the lengthwise direction, into a spirally-wound shape with the slits facing radially outwardly; and a housing that accommodates the heat and moisture exchanger material. Such a structure for an HME makes it possible to reduce pressure loss and improve moisture retention capabilities by means of a relatively simple structure, thereby allowing the inexpensive provision of an HME that lowers the burden on a patient.
    Type: Grant
    Filed: March 8, 2013
Date of Patent: April 24, 2018
Assignees: Toray Medical Co., Ltd., Toray Fine Chemicals Co., Ltd.
Inventors: Tsuguaki Umehara, Hiroyuki Fukuda, Masato Mutoh, Takehiko Hirabara, Yusuke Shobu, Hideyuki Takeshige

  • Publication number: 20030114376
Abstract: The invention is a medicine for improving retinal functions comprising a protein that improves ERG (electroretinogram) recordings. Particularly, a medicine containing tissue-factor-pathway inhibitor-2 or placental protein 5 as the active ingredient can be used for ophthalmic diseases such as glaucoma, occlusion disease of the retinal and choroidal vessels and retinal dysfunctions, as a medicine for improving retinal functions.

  • Patent number: 5348950
Abstract: A platinum(II) complex represented by the general formula (A), ##STR1## in which R.sub.1 represents a hydrocarbon radical having 1 to 10 carbon atoms, R.sub.2 and R.sub.3 each represent a hydrogen atom or a hydrocarbon radical of 1 to 10 carbon atoms, or R.sub.2 and R.sub.3, together, may form --(CH.sub.2).sub.4 -- or --(CH.sub.2).sub.5 --, and X and Y each represent an ammonia molecule or a monodentate amine having 1 to 7 carbon atoms or X and Y, together, may form a bidentate diamine having 2 to 10 carbon atoms. The compounds are useful for treating a tumor.

  • Patent number: 5302587
Abstract: A novel platinum (II) complex represented by the following formula (A): ##STR1## wherein R.sub.1 represents C.sub.1 -C.sub.5 lower hydrocarbon group, R.sub.2 and R.sub.3 represents hydrogen atom or C.sub.1 -C.sub.3 lower hydrocarbon group, the configuration of 1,2-diaminocyclohexane being cis, trans-l- or trans-d-. Since the platinum (II) complex has a strong anti-tumor activity and its toxicity is low, it is useful as an agent for treating malignant tumor.
