  • Patent number: 7756417
Abstract: A light-transmitting apparatus for demultiplexing an input signal completing waveform division multiplexing into wavelength components and transmitting the wavelength components through their respective transmission lines includes a wavelength-count-detecting unit for detecting the number of wavelengths of wavelength components included in the input signal and determining whether the number of wavelengths is normal or abnormal. The light-transmitting apparatus further includes a plurality of identifier-detecting units each associated with one of the wavelength components and used for determining whether or not an identifier set in one of the wavelength components that has the associated wavelength is normal, and a judgment unit for forming a judgment on existence of an error for each of the wavelength components on the basis of a detection result output by the wavelength-count-detecting unit and a detection result output by the identifier-detecting unit associated with the wavelength component.

  • Patent number: 7280763
Abstract: A terminal apparatus by which, even where BER data, for example, of an optical signal of an existing wavelength cannot be utilized, the optical output powers of the existing wavelength and an extension wavelength can be adjusted in a short period of time while eliminating quality degradation of the existing circuit. The terminal apparatus includes a level controlling section for controlling a total optical output power of an existing wavelength signal light and an extension wavelength signal light to a fixed level, a monitoring unit capable of monitoring the optical output power for each wavelength, and a controller for controlling the optical output power of the extension wavelength signal light so that the optical output power of the existing wavelength signal light monitored by the monitoring unit may not be lower than a minimum permissible optical output power.

  • Patent number: 5548390
Abstract: An intermediate buffer device for absorbing the difference in paper feeding speed between first and second printers is disposed therebetween. The first printer prints on a first surface of continuous forms in accordance with the top-surface printing data input from a host apparatus, and the second printer prints on the second surface of continuous forms in accordance with the back-surface printing data input from a host apparatus. A detecting portion detects the amount of retention in the intermediate buffer device. A printer controller stops printing and paper feeding by the second printer when the amount of retention falls below a first set value L1 and stops paper feeding and printing by the first printer when the amount of retention exceeds a second set value L2.

  • Patent number: 5471290
Abstract: An image forming apparatus for continuously feeding sheets and transferring images thereon, includes an endless type rotatable image forming body, an image forming unit for forming an image on the image forming body, a transfer unit for transferring the image on the image forming body onto a sheet being fed, a feeding unit for feeding the sheet, a first position detector for detecting the sheet being fed at a first predetermined position in a feeding path of the sheet, and a second position detector, located on a side of the transfer unit at a second predetermined position, for detecting the sheet being fed. A control unit is provided for controlling a feeding speed of the feeding unit to compensate for a transfer position of the sheet, in accordance with a measured feeding time from the first predetermined position to the second predetermined position based on outputs of the first and second position detectors.
