  • Patent number: 7274151
Abstract: The anode sides of respective EL elements E1-E4 constituting icons are connected to a first potential V1, the cathode sides of the EL elements E1-E4 are connected to current absorption sides of constant current sources I1-I4, and current output sides of the constant current sources are connected to a second potential V2 whose potential is lower than that of the first potential via light emission control switches S11-S14. Current regulating resistors R101-R104 are connected in parallel corresponding to the respective EL elements E1-E4, and therefore by appropriately selecting the resistance values of the current regulating resistors R101-R104, light emission intensities of the respective EL elements E1-E4 constituting icons can be regulated appropriately. During an all extinction period during which the respective EL elements E1-E4 are all extinguished, an analog switch S201 is turned off, and an analog switch S202 is turned on.

  • Patent number: 7109426
Abstract: A printed board includes an electrically insulating board, a conductor layer made of an electrically conducting pattern, and at least one of a resist layer and an ink layer, each made of an electrically insulating solid pattern. The electrically insulating board has one surface on which electronic parts will be mounted, and the other surface on which the conductor layer is formed and covered with at least one of the resist layer and the ink layer. An organic EL display device includes the printed board, and a housing having a planar structure. The surface on which the conductor layer of the printed board is covered with at least one of the resist layer and the ink layer, each made of the electronically insulating solid pattern is arranged so as to face a planar portion of the housing having the planar structure.

  • Publication number: 20060170632
Abstract: There is provided a drive method and device for a light-emitting display panel which can reduce shadowing caused by an ON rate of light-emitting elements and a condition of dimmer setting to a level at which a problem is not posed. An analog video signal is supplied to a drive control circuit and an A/D converting circuit, and the analog video signal is converted into image data corresponding to each pixel in the A/D converting circuit. The image data is written in an image memory. The image data is read from the image memory every scanning operation, and the drive control circuit acquires a rate (ON rate of light-emitting elements in each scanning operation) of EL elements to be controlled to emit light. Non-scanning selecting voltage data is read from a look-up table on the basis of the ON rate and the dimmer setting data so that a non-scanning selecting voltage data in the non-scanning voltage setting unit is determined.

  • Publication number: 20060170631
Abstract: Provided is a drive device and a drive method of a light emitting display panel in which shadowing generated due to the lighting ratio of light emitting elements and a dimmer setting condition can be reduced to a level at which there is no problem for practical use. An analog video signal is supplied to a drive control circuit 11 and an A/D conversion circuit 12 and is converted into image data which corresponds to each pixel in the A/D conversion circuit 12 to be written in an image memory 13. The image data is read out of the image memory 13 for each scan, and the drive control circuit 11 obtains a rate of EL elements which are to be controlled to emit light (lighting ratio of light emitting elements for each scan). Based on the lighting ratio and dimmer setting data, precharge control data is read out of a look up table 14, and a precharge voltage VAM based on the precharge control data is supplied to a data driver 2.

  • Patent number: 6894436
Abstract: In a drive method of a light-emitting display panel capable of emitting light in low luminance, the parasitic capacitances of the light-emitting elements disposed in the light-emitting display panel are precharged making use of a reverse bias voltage before they are lit. In this case, a reverse bias voltage created by a reverse bias voltage creation circuit or a peak current being precharged is controlled by selectively grounding control terminals based on dimmer control. In particular, when the light-emitting elements are emitted in low luminance, the reverse bias voltage is output in a low level, thereby the light-emitting elements are prevented from being precharged with an excessive voltage. The above arrangement can realize light emission control in low luminance.
