    Abstract: A method of manufacturing a push rod from a length of tube having a first end and a second end. The tube is held in a first fixture and a first tool is brought into engagement with the first end while a force is applied to deform the first end into a cone. A disc is thereafter affixed to the cone through a welding process. The tube with the disc attached is moved to a second fixture and a threaded shaft is partially inserted into the tube adjacent the second end. A radial force is applied to the tube that causes the tube to be compressed into engagement with the threaded shaft. The threaded shaft is then rotated causing its translation within the tube to establish a desired length between a face on the disc and a head on the threaded shaft to complete the manufacture of the push rod.

    Abstract: A first and second tie rods locating between a front shell and a rear shell of a brake booster through which a master cylinder is connected to a support member. Each of the first and second tie rods have a head that engages the rear shell and a first shaft that extends from the head in a first direction along a first axis through the front shell and the flange and a second shaft that extends from the head in a second direction offset from the first shaft along a second axis through the rear shell and the support member. Fasteners are secured to the first, second, third and fourth shafts such that the front shell and rear shell are compressed between the flange and support member and forces are transmitted into the support member without creating a moment that would change the axial alignment of the first and third shafts.

    Abstract: The present invention provides a carbon black for coloring cement excelling in dispersibility in cement slurry, exhibiting superior adhesion to a cement matrix, and excelling in coloring characteristics and strength, and a method for coloring a cement-formed product using the carbon black. The carbon black for coloring cement is a carbon black in which humic acids are adsorbed on the surface by a surface treatment using an aqueous solution in which the humic acids are dissolved. The carbon black is preferably a carbon black on which humic acids are adsorbed by wet-granulation and drying using an aqueous solution in which the humic acids are dissolved as granulation water. The coloring method includes adding and mixing a water suspension in which carbon black, on which the humic acids are adsorbed, is dispersed in water with cement slurry, or directly adding and mixing carbon black on which the humic acids are adsorbed with the cement slurry, thereby coloring a cement-formed product.

    Abstract: A movable wall for separating an interior of a housing for a brake booster into a first chamber and a second chamber. The movable wall is characterized by a diaphragm, a backing plate and a hub member. The diaphragm has a peripheral bead secured to the housing and an axial bead located in a groove in a cylindrical body of the hub member. The groove has a front face that is separated from a rear face by an arcuate transition surface located between a bottom of the groove and the front face. The axial bead has a profile corresponding to the groove and an arcuate lip that extends from a rear surface. The lip is connected by a convolute to a radial section of the disc portion of the diaphragm while the backing plate has an axial opening surrounded by a radial surface that engages the front face of the groove. The axial bead engages the radial surface to urge the radial annular surface into engagement with the front face of the groove while sealing the front chamber from the rear chamber.
