    Abstract: A handheld reciprocating saw includes a housing, a motor, a sole plate attached to the housing and having a bottom surface. The housing comprises a first housing portion which has a first longitudinal central axis and a second housing portion which has a second longitudinal central axis. An angle is formed between the first longitudinal central axis and the second longitudinal central axis. A battery is attached to one of the first housing portion and the second housing portion, and the motor is mounted in the other one of the first housing portion and the second housing portion.     Abstract: An electric sanding machine has a housing with a drive device disposed therein, a base plate disposed under the housing, and a driven shaft for driving the base plate. A sanding device is attached to the base plate. The housing has a drive device housing part substantially perpendicular to the base plate and a grip housing part substantially parallel to the base plate. A cross section of the housing in a vertical direction is substantially L-shaped. The drive device is disposed in the drive device housing part while the driven shaft is located in the grip housing part so that the drive device is departed from the driven shaft in a radius direction of the driven shaft. With this arrangement, the sanding machine is provided with stronger power and has a smaller contour size which may be controlled more effectively.

    Abstract: An apparatus for punching knock-outs out of light gauge steel framing studs used in building construction to form holes of sufficient size to allow building wiring and piping to extend therethrough includes a compact hand held frame (12) having a generally C-shaped frame portion (14). The C-shaped frame portion has spaced apart ends (16, 18) located along a working axis (20) for receiving a stud (30) therebetween. A punch and die assembly (24) includes a punch (26) and a die (28) mounted opposite each other at the ends of the C-shaped frame portion. An actuatable driving mechanism (36) mounted to the frame is operable to drive the punch and dic assembly over a working stroke range between a deactuated position (52) and an actuated position (54). In the actuated position, the punch extends into the die by punching through the stud to produce a knock-out (342).

    Abstract: An orbital sander includes a motor, a housing, and a drive shaft rotatably driven by the motor about a drive axis. A bearing freely rotatable about a bearing axis is disposed eccentrically with respect to the drive axis to define an eccentric offset. A sanding platen is supported by the bearing. An input sleeve is interposed between the bearing and the drive shaft, and has an input axis spaced from the drive axis. An output sleeve, positioned within and engaging the bearing, encircles the input sleeve and is rotatable about the input axis. The sleeves are circumferentially aligned, thereby minimizing the height of the sander. A stop member cooperates with the sleeves to allow for rotation of the sanding platen while preventing axial movement of the sleeves. The sleeves have cooperating surfaces which limit their relative movement, defining maximum and minimum eccentric offsets based on the direction of motor rotation.

    Abstract: A trigger mechanism for a portable electric power tool which can be selectively oriented in one of three states being a Locked-off, an On, and a Locked-on state. The trigger mechanism includes a trigger having a first latch portion and an actuator for actuating a switch for energizing a motor, a lock button having a second latch portion, a latch return spring, and a lock button return spring. The trigger is shiftable longitudinally between a Trigger-off and a Trigger-on position, while the lock button is shiftable transversely between a Button-off and a Button-on position. When the trigger mechanism is in the Locked-off state, the lock button is in the Button-off position preventing the trigger from moving from the Trigger-off position. When the trigger mechanism is in the On state, the lock button has been shifted to the Button-on position so that the trigger is shiftable to the Trigger-on position thereby actuating the switch.

The saw includes a base, a turntable rotatably mounted on the base, a pair of bearings formed in the turntable, a pair of thrust shafts supported by the bearings to be movable back and forth in an axial direction, a first holder mounted on one end of the thrust bearings, the first holder having a first engagement portion in the form of an arcuate shape, a second holder provided with a second engagement portion engageable with the first engagement portion to be slidable relative to the first engagement portion, and a coupling member for coupling the first and second holders with each other. The cutter device is mounted on the second holder to be swingable.
