    Abstract: Methods are disclosed for the production of (I) a cationic water-soluble resin by the reaction of a polyethylene glycol polyhalohydrin ether resulting from the reaction between polyethylene glycol and an epihalohydrin with an aziridine compound and (II) and (III) cationic water-soluble resins by the reaction of (I) the resin with an epihalohydrin and/or a polyfunctional epoxy compound in the presence or absence of a polyalkyleneimine. The resins (I), (II), and (III) are stable over a wide range of pH value and are useful as a water-treating agent.
