  • Patent number: 7140795
Abstract: The printer can improve the workability of storing and ejecting printing sheets in or from a storage tray. The printer includes a storage tray comprising a sheet storage case for storing a stack of a plurality of printing sheets with at least one of the sides of the storage case being opened and a cover for covering the sheet storage case, wherein the cover comprises a cover body and an moveable member supported by the cover body for freely opening and closing the opening of the sheet storage case. When the entire storage tray is disposed in the slot of the chassis, a pick-up block ejects one printing sheet at a time, and when a part of the storage tray is pulled out of the slot of the chassis, the moveable member can be opened or closed and the printing sheet can be stored in or discharged from the sheet storage case.

  • Patent number: 5149218
Abstract: A printing apparatus for printing a paper sheet on a platen by a thermal head with a three color image includes a feeding device and a paper ejecting device. The paper feeding device includes feeding rollers, a feeding tray, a feeding lever and a two-stage discharge bay. With the paper feeding device, a receiving plate for receiving a stack of paper sheets is lifted upwardly toward the feeding rollers so as to keep the leading paper sheet in contact with the feeding rollers; at the same time, a discharged sheet is moved from the first to second discharge stage. The feeding lever is adapted for moving the receiving plate slightly downwardly so as to separate the printing paper sheet from the feeding rollers before the rear edge of the sheet passes under the feeding rollers. Shock is thereby avoided when the leading edge of the sheet passes under the roller.

  • Patent number: 4893951
Abstract: A color ink ribbon positioning system for use with color printing apparatus that uses a color ink ribbon having a plurality of different colored ink regions formed at predetermined intervals on a ribbon base, in which only a single ink region marker block is provided for each set of colored ink regions, includes a detector for detaching the ink region marker block and a calculating unit for determining the leading edge of each color ink region that is to be successively arranged next to the printer head, so that is it only necessary to detect the single marker block in order to advance the ribbon to print the successive colors of a set.
