  • Patent number: 5444481
Abstract: A method of calibrating a CCD camera comprising those sequential processes comprises steps of shifting a spot light source held by a positioning device, in front of a fixed CCD camera between two remote points on a visual line in order that light beam in the center of the light source can be incident upon predetermined picture element of a solid sensor built in the CCD camera, computing angles between a plurality of visual lines generated by shifting the light source and the optical axis of the CCD camera based on position data related to the positioning device, and calibrating the corresponding relationship between the angle of light beam incident upon the CCD camera and the predetermined picture elements built in the solid sensor.

  • Patent number: 5402364
Abstract: A three-dimensional measuring apparatus includes a minimum of a pair of CCD cameras which respectively pick up an image of an objective surface of an objective workpiece requiring dimensional measurement. At least a single unit or a pair of laser scanner sequentially irradiates a plurality of spots on the measurable surface with laser beams. The spots respectively make up measuring points when operating the pair of CCD cameras for measuring dimensions of the objective surface. The laser scanner directly displays the results of the dimensional measurement on the objective surface.

  • Patent number: 5396331
Abstract: A method of measuring three-dimensional dimension of a object comprising the steps of installing two or more than two of CCD cameras, installing a plurality of reference-point members to at least four locations in the periphery of or on a measurable object, installing a reference bar having a known distance between a pair of points thereof, computing positions of respective measurable points based on image data transmitted from those CCD cameras, wherein a computer unit computes absolute positions of those CCD cameras based on horizontal and vertical angles of respective reference-point members and a pair of points of the reference bar against light axes of the installed CCD camera and also based on the distance between a pair of points of the reference bar, and then, the computer unit computes positions of respective measurable points based on processed data as reference. Whenever those image data vary, the computer unit correctively computes absolute positions of the installed CCD cameras.
