Abstract: Plural information processing apparatuses include at least one primary machine and at least one secondary machine. The primary machine includes: a job data management storage that manages and stores acquired job data; an update data acquirer that acquires update data used to update a control program controlling operation of the information processing apparatus; an update data storage that stores the acquired update data; and an update data distributor that distributes the update data retrieved from the update data storage to the secondary machine. The secondary machine includes a program update executor that stores a control program controlling own operation and updates the control program by using received update data. At least one of timing at which the primary machine distributes the update data and timing at which the secondary machine updates the control program is determined according to the job data.

Abstract: An input device is connected to a display device and an image forming apparatus having an energy saving function. When a prescribed operation instruction suggesting that edition of an image will end soon is received before receiving a print instruction, the input device issues an activation signal causing recovery from an energy saving state to a ready state to the image forming apparatus. Receiving the activation signal, image forming apparatus starts warming-up.

Abstract: To provide a control unit including a touch panel display capable of presenting preview display of multiple pages of document images on the display panel, the touch panel display includes: a binding position indicating controller; a binding process preview displaying controller that displays preview images of recording paper bound at the specified position; a paper binding position-linked scrolling display switching controller that, when the binding position in the printed paper is modified, switches the direction of scrolling preview display so as to be suited to the recording paper bound at the modified binding position.

Abstract: In order to provide an operation console allowing highly efficient movement of displayed images, a CPU controlling a touch-panel display causes a display panel to display an image edition mode screen image including preview images of a plurality of pages in a movable manner. If it is detected that any of the plurality of preview images is in a selected state (first press) based on a user operation on the touch-panel, determination is made as to whether an instruction (second press and flick operation) to move the plurality of preview images other than the selected preview image has been issued, based on a user operation on the touch-panel. If it is determined that the instruction has been given, the plurality of preview images other than the selected preview image are scrolled.
