  • Publication number: 20050029353
Abstract: An RFID tag formed on an original includes a storage unit which stores data representing, e.g., the number of times of scan of the original and the generation from a parent original, and a transmitter/receiver which transmits and receives the data by radio. A read/write circuit receives data from an RFID tag of an original by radio. On the basis of the received data, read of the original is controlled. While the original is being read, the received data is edited in accordance with the control. The read/write circuit transmits and writes the edited data in the RFID tag.

  • Publication number: 20040257601
Abstract: In an image forming apparatus which requires the user to manually input sheet medium information, (when a bundle of sheets which include a plurality of types of print media are to be printed, the user must manually input setups of the image forming apparatus for each individual print medium. In manual setups by the user, some setups require user's knowledge about print media. When the user has made wrong setups, a print result cannot be obtained under an appropriate control condition Furthermore, when information about a print medium is sensed by the sensor without manual setups, the information cannot be often precisely detect depending on the type and thickness of the print medium, an environment, and the like, and it is consequently difficult to attain optimal image formation. It is an object of this invention to attain optimal image formation, saving user labor and shortening the print time by using a radio tag attached to the sheet medium.

  • Patent number: 5923919
Abstract: An image forming apparatus has an automatic power-off function for automatically shutting off a power source of the image forming apparatus when it is not operated for a predetermined time. A time until the automatic power-off function operates is made different in an ordinary standby mode and an interruption mode. The interruption mode is caused by an abnormality such as no paper. The time period in the interruption mode is made longer than the time period in the standby mode. The time period in the interruption mode is also made variable depending on the type of detected abnormality. The power-off time periods may be extended when an instruction is inputted via an operator. In addition, in an image forming apparatus having an original feeding device, a image forming mode is stored in memory and all the originals which have not been imaged will be ejected before the power is shut off in the interrupt mode.

  • Patent number: 5905581
Abstract: There is disclosed an image forming apparatus, such as a copying machine, capable of various image forming modes. The image forming mode can be selected by feeding a mode registration format sheet into the apparatus. The format sheet can be a marking sheet, on which the operator can designate the desired image forming mode, and can be printed by the image forming apparatus itself in response to an instruction by the operator, so that the format sheet need not be prepared elsewhere in advance. Also the content of the format sheet, printed by the image forming apparatus, is varied according to the available copying modes, depending on the connection status of external processing units such as document feeder and sorter to the image forming apparatus.

  • Patent number: 5726781
Abstract: An image processing apparatus reads color images, identifies the colors of an read color image, converts the color image into a monochrome image, synthesizes color recognition information on the monochrome image, and prints the resulting synthesized image as a monochrome image. As a result, even if a low-priced printer is employed, it is possible to provide a monochrome image permitting recognition of the colors of the color original, or quick identification of differences among the colors thereof. Moreover, this allows a user to specify a desired graphic pattern to be associated with a given color, and to obtain collation tables independently of the monochrome image, or to print the specified graphic pattern with any variable magnification power.

  • Patent number: 4678571
Abstract: A water purifier has a deodorization tank for removing ions and odorants by adsorption from running water and a mesh filter for removing dust. The mesh filter is arranged at a water entrance of the deodorization tank. The deodorization tank contains an anti-bacterial membrane having a function of imparting an antibacterial activity to the water by supplying mineral ions to the running water and thereby alkalifying the water. The deodorization tank also has a water exit which is associated with a mineral supply filter for supplying a mineral component to the running water. The mineral supply filter is prepared by molding a powder obtained by adhering a material such as soda glass to the surface of heat-decomposed calcium carbonate.

  • Patent number: 4591438
Abstract: A water purifier including a body section, a cartridge section for purifying water, and a spool section. A horizontal water passage which is provided in the main body constituting the body section has a large-diameter portion opened to the outside of the main body and a small-diameter portion connected to the cartridge section. A vertical water passage is provided in the main body in communication with the large-diameter portion and therein a spool sleeve is disposed. A spool body including an "O" ring is provided such as to change the direction of flow of the horizontal water passage by selectively coming into contact with the continuous portion leading from the large-diameter portion to the small-diameter portion and the spool sleeve without making any contact with the edges which communicate the vertical water passage with the large-diameter portion, thereby avoiding the impairment of the "O" ring and lengthening the life of the water purifier.
