  • Patent number: 5606872
Abstract: A compression type refrigerator has an evaporator, a condenser, a compressor for compressing a refrigerant gas, an oil tank for storing a lubricating oil, and an oil supply device connected to the oil tank for supplying the lubricating oil to the compressor by an oil pump. The discharge side of the oil pump is connected to the oil tank through an ejector. A pipe connected at one end to the evaporator to take out a refrigerant liquid is connected at the other end to a negative pressure generation portion of the ejector.

  • Patent number: 5529457
Abstract: A centrifugal compressor has a diffuser operative to convert the kinetic energy of fluid discharged from an impeller into pressure and having a shroud, a main shroud, and stationary vanes disposed in the diffuser. The distance between the shroud and the main shroud is smaller at an inlet side of the diffuser than at an outlet side thereof. The stationary vanes are integral with the one of the shroud and the main shroud that is perpendicular to the axis of rotation of the impeller so that an end surface of each of the stationary vanes forms a free end.

  • Patent number: 4743174
Abstract: A centrifugal compressor for use in turbo-refrigerators, for example, has a motor casing frame section in which a drive motor is accomodated and a gear casing frame section in which a multiplying gear mechanism is accomodated. The multiplying gear mechanism is connected at its input side with the drive motor and at its output side with an impeller. The mechanism has a first shaft including a rotor shaft of the drive motor and a gear shaft carrying a multiplying gear and separably connected directly with the rotor shaft, a second shaft mounting the impeller and having a pinion meshing with the speed multiplying gear, and bearings mounted on bearing casing frame sections for supporting the first and second shafts at their opposed ends, respectively. The motor casing frame section, gear casing frame section and bearing casing frame section are integrally formed as a unitary body.

  • Patent number: 4615184
Abstract: Disclosed is a compact compressor refrigerating machine, particularly a turbo-refrigerating machine which uses a turbocompressor, having a motor, a set-up gear, a compressor, a condenser, a pressure reducing means, and an evaporator. A vapor-liquid separator having a first opening on the bottom wall thereof and second and third openings on the side wall thereof is installed on the evaporator in such a manner that the vapor-liquid separator communicates with the evaporator through the first opening. The compressor is connected to the side wall of the vapor-liquid separator so as to communicate the second opening with the suction passage of the compressor and the third opening with the discharge passage of the compressor, respectively. A separation element is disposed in the vapor-liquid separator so as to cross the flow of the refrigerant vapor which flows from the first opening toward the second opening.

  • Patent number: 4432212
Abstract: In a turbo-refrigerator apparatus provided with a compressor in the form of a turbocompressor, a speed increasing gear system capable of switching from one speed increase ratio to another at least in two stages is located between the turbocompressor and an electric motor, so that a speed increase ratio suitable for the conditions of outdoor air can be selected to operate the apparatus with high efficiency. Housings of the turbocompressor, electric motor and speed increasing gear system are connected together in such a manner that a shaft supporting an impeller of the turbocompressor, an output shaft of the electric motor and shafts of the speed increasing gear system are located within the respective housings to render the apparatus hermetic to avoid extension of the rotary shafts through the housings, thereby avoiding leak of the working fluid of the turborefrigerator apparatus to outside.

  • Patent number: 4291587
Abstract: In a multistage speed change gear system including a plurality of gears selectively interconnecting an input shaft and an output shaft located parallel to one another, the gears disposed concentric with the input shaft are supported by ball-and-roller bearings supported by at least one stationary member which is an entity separate from the input shaft. By this arrangement, relative movements occur between inner and outer races of the ball-and-roller bearings when a rotational force is transmitted from the input shaft to the output shaft, thereby preventing or reducing the development of fretting corrosion in the ball-and-roller bearings.
