  • Publication number: 20060066993
Abstract: A plurality of magnetic disks are supported and rotated by a motor that is arranged in a case. A stabilizing plate is located between the disks so as to oppose surfaces of the disks across gaps. The stabilizing plate includes integrally with an arcuate first stabilizing portion and a second stabilizing portion. The first stabilizing portion has a first peripheral edge extending along respective outer peripheral edges of the disks and a second peripheral edge opposed to the first peripheral edge across a gap, and is opposed to the whole respective outer peripheral edge portions of the disks except a movement region for a carriage assembly. The second stabilizing portion radially extends from one end portion of the first stabilizing portion toward respective central parts of the disks and is opposed to the movement region for the carriage assembly.

  • Publication number: 20030103287
Abstract: A disk drive apparatus includes a drive section, which has a disk, a motor for supporting and rotating the disk, a head configured to perform an information processing operation with respect to the disk, and a head actuator supporting the head for movement relative to the disk, and a shock sensor for detecting the respective levels of a shock and a vibration externally applied to the drive section. The apparatus includes a compensation filter for amplifying the shock and vibration levels in a frequency band corresponding to the resonance frequency of the drive section, out of the shock and vibration levels detected by means of the shock sensor. A control section stops the information processing operation of the head when given values are exceeded by the external shock and vibration levels detected by means of the shock sensor and inputted through the compensation filter.

  • Patent number: 5587854
Abstract: HDD detachable from a computer body is contained in a double-structured case unit having an inner case member and an outer case member. The case unit comprises a first lock mechanism for locking HDD contained in the inner case member, and a second lock mechanism for locking the inner case member contained in the outer case member. For connecting HDD to the computer body, the inner case member is pushed from the outer case member to an outer unit by a guide mechanism. By the release of the first lock mechanism, HDD taken out from the inner case member is inserted to a slot of the computer body, and connected to the computer body through a connector.
