  • Patent number: 5829804
Abstract: Disclosed is a resin composition for the making of automobile bumpers comprising specified amounts of (A) a specific propylene-ethylene block copolymer, (B) a specific propylene homopolymer, (C) (C1) an ethylene-propylene copolymer rubber (EPM) and/or (C2) an ethylene-propylene-diene copolymer rubber (EPDM), (D) talc, and optionally (E) a polyhydroxy polyolefin. This resin composition shows an improvement in flexural modulus of elasticity and low-temperature impact resistance and also has good processability by injection molding, especially in terms of planar smoothness. Moreover, when component (E) is added, this resin composition provides automobile bumpers having adequate coating adhesion and hence excellent paintability. Thus, this resin composition is highly suitable for use in the making of automobile bumpers.

  • Patent number: 5477751
Abstract: A clutch assembly for an automatic transmission comprises a side cover housing defining one part of an annular hollow space, a rotary member arranged inside of the annular hollow space defined by the side cover housing, at least one clutch plate axially movably engaged with the side cover housing, at least one second clutch plate axially movably engaged with the rotary member, and a piston arranged in the annular hollow space for thrusting the first and second clutch plates in the axial direction. A cover member is arranged adjacent to the side cover housing while defining the other part of the annular hollow space, and a part of the side surface of the cover member comes in contact with either one of the first and second clutch plates so as to restrict the axial displacement of the same therewith.

  • Patent number: 5389047
Abstract: An automotive automatic transmission comprises a transmission mechanism which includes a casing, an output shaft and a clutch drum. The clutch drum is spline-connected to the output shaft to rotate therewith. A final drive mechanism is arranged to which a torque of the output shaft is transmitted. A parking gear is integrally formed on a cylindrical outer surface of the clutch drum, and a parking pawl is pivotally held by the casing. The parking pawl is engageable with the parking gear to lock the same.

  • Patent number: 5211262
Abstract: A drain path extending from a control valve mounted upper an oil pump is designed to make unit sizes small. The drain path is formed using a groove on a joint surface where an oil pump housing is secured to a transmission case. The drain path is formed without any extension around a bearing holding portion for a counter shaft while it overlaps the bearing holding portion as seen in the axial direction. Thus, the whole structure of an automatic transmission can be designed in smaller dimensions. A supply hole is formed in the bearing holding portion so as to allow hydraulic oil drained from the drain path to be delivered to the transmission. The bearing holding portion may be dislocated to another position corresponding to design change for a counter shaft.
