Patent number: 7418624Abstract: Consistency of a shared disk is secured in system switching in a hot standby system. In the standby system in which an active computer and standby computer share the shared disk, when a write I/O request is issued from the active computer, information about a start of the I/O is recorded in, for example, a memory. When the I/O is completed, the information is deleted from the memory. When a failure occurs in the active computer, the active computer transmits the record of the information about the start of the I/O, to the standby computer. The standby computer verifies the record to recover a disk in which the I/O is to be executed.Type: GrantFiled: October 4, 2004Date of Patent: August 26, 2008Assignee: Hitachi, Ltd.Inventors: Masaya Ichikawa, Yuzuru Maya, Hideaki Sampei

Publication number: 20070050425Abstract: According to the present invention, even when any one of the computers constituting a computer system becomes inoperable, a series of flow of distributed processing can be traced. Application program 120 in computer 100A requests computer 100B to perform a part of the series of the processes (S106). Log information items in the computer 100A, to which an ID issued to a series of processes is attached, are transmitted to the computer 100B by the log transmission program 152 in the computer 100A (S110). The log information receiving program 153 of the computer 100B receives these log information items and stores them in logbuffer 160 (S221, S222). The application program 120 in the computer 100B executes thus requested processing, and returns the process result to the computer 100A (S206).Type: ApplicationFiled: December 13, 2005Publication date: March 1, 2007Inventors: Masaya Ichikawa, Hirofumi Nagasuka, Hideaki Sampei

Patent number: 7010725Abstract: According to the present invention, as regards a computer system that uses virtual storage management, because content of auxiliary storage utilized by paging is used, dump information can be obtained by outputting only a part of the content of the auxiliary storage at the time of occurrence of an abnormal system condition. As a result, time required to restart the computer system and business can be shortened. What is more, because it is not necessary to add a special external storage for obtaining dump information, computer resources can be utilized more efficiently.Type: GrantFiled: July 27, 2001Date of Patent: March 7, 2006Assignee: Hitachi, Ltd.Inventors: Masahiro Kiyoi, Hirofumi Nagasuka, Masaya Ichikawa, Akira Otsuji

Patent number: 6615364Abstract: A dump information acquiring method and a system recovery method for a computer system using a virtual memory, the methods being used when fault occurs in the computer system. The computer system has a plurality of external storage units used as a paging device unit for holding the contents of the virtual memory to be paged out from a main memory. During the normal operation, an external storage unit selected from the plurality of external storage units is used as the paging device unit. When fault occurs, a program for acquiring dump information operates to output the contents of the main storage at the time of the fault occurrence to a dump file. The identifier of the external storage unit set to definition information for defining the external storage unit used as the paging device unit is changed from the identifier of the external storage unit used as the page device unit to the identifier of another external storage unit. Publication number: 20020124164Abstract: In this invention, a main storage is divided into an area that should be initialized and an area that should not be initialized at the time when the system is restarted. Part of the main storage area that should not be initialized is allocated to a table for managing a use situation of the main storage and a use situation of an address space. After the restart, for a request for main storage allocation to the virtual space whose contents should be taken over, part of the main storage area that should not be initialized is allocated to a virtual space and part of the main storage area that should not be initialized is also allocated to an address translation table corresponding to the virtual space. For a request for main storage allocation to the virtual space other than the above-mentioned request, part of the main storage area that should be initialized is allocated thereto. At the time of the restart, only areas that should be initialized are subjected to the initialization.Type: ApplicationFiled: February 8, 2002Publication date: September 5, 2002Applicant: Hitachi, Ltd.Inventors: Masahiro Kiyoi, Hirofumi Nagasuka, Masaya Ichikawa, Akira Otsuji

Patent number: 5773281Abstract: Water contained in raw garbage introduced through a throw port is drained off by a filter member and a water-draining gate, and is drained into a drainpipe, the water having good quality. The raw garbage from which water is drained off to a sufficient degree is dry-pulverized by a pulverizer unit and is smoothly blown into the microorganism decomposition chamber through a carrier duct having a flared end, utilizing the impact force of the impeller revolving in the pulverizer unit. The dry-pulverized raw garbage that is thus conveyed is decomposed by a microorganism carrier in the microorganism decomposition chamber.Type: GrantFiled: April 24, 1996Date of Patent: June 30, 1998Assignee: Nippondenso Co., Ltd.Inventors: Masaya Ichikawa, Junichi Ooki, Toru Muramatsu
