  • Patent number: 7588009
Abstract: In a motorcycle, the vehicle body frame includes main frames which are inclined rearwardly and downwardly directly towards a rear portion of a vehicle body from a head pipe with the engine being arranged close to an inclined portion of the vehicle body frame and the fuel injection device is overlapped to the main frames. In a fuel injection type engine including a cylinder head, a throttle body has an intake passage leading to an intake port and a fuel injection valve which injects fuel towards the intake port, the throttle body can be arranged close to a cylinder head and, at the same time, the fuel injection valve can be cooled effectively. A connecting sleeve portion projects further outwardly relative to a joint portion of a cylinder head and a head cover and forms an inlet portion of an intake port that is integrally formed with the cylinder head.

  • Patent number: 7001508
Abstract: An oil filtering device disposed at a position apart from a crankshaft in a crankcase. An oil filtering device 24 is constituted in that a filter storage 34 formed in a left half case body 1a of a crankcase 1 contains a filter element 37, and a lid 47 of a filter flange 46 is fitted in an opening 36 of the filter storage 34. An extension part 48 extending outward from the lid 47 is formed in the filter flange 46, and the filter flange 46 has a communication passage 53 inside. Then, an oil passage 57 communicating with the tip of a crankshaft 16 is formed in a crank cover 1b. A connection part 50 formed on the tip of the extension part 48 of the filter flange 46 is fitted in a flange connection part 58 which communicates with the oil passage 57. Oil is supplied to the tip of the crankshaft 16 from the oil filtering device 24. The filter flange 46 is supported by the left half case body 1a and the crank cover 1b.

  • Patent number: 6889646
Abstract: This invention relates to a cam mechanism with a decompression device formed by integrating a centrifugal weight and a decompression cam lobe. The decompression device is formed by preparing a cylindrical shaft having a decompression cam lobe at one end of the shaft and a centrifugal weight at the other end. The device is constructed to be disposed on a camshaft by inserting the decompression cam lobe into a grove portion of a second cam, and pivotally supporting the shaft receiving hole on the camshaft.
