  • Publication number: 20050111123
Abstract: On a translucent non-magnetic substrate, a master information carrier having an information signal pattern made of light-proof ferromagnetic thin-film is prepared, and a magnetic recording medium having undergone DC erasing is placed opposite to the carrier. The carrier in the foregoing state is irradiated with light while a bias magnetic field having a reverse polarity to the DC erasing magnetic field is applied to the medium. As a result, a magnetized pattern corresponding to the information signal array can be transcribed and recorded on the medium. In the case of using a magnetic recording medium having so great coercive force that a transcribing and recording magnetic field is not enough to work on this medium, the foregoing structure allows transcribing and recording a signal having excellent performance because a section having undergone the light irradiation lowers the coercive force.

  • Publication number: 20050064346
Abstract: The present invention provides a method for forming a resist pattern that allows a fine pattern to be formed by preventing undesirable diffraction of light in exposure. This method includes: a step of forming a resist film 2 on a surface of a base 1; a step of forming a protrusion 252 and an air-evacuating recess 251 on the resist film 2 by exposing the resist film 2 to light and developing the same; a step of bringing the resist film 2 and a photomask 31 in which a predetermined pattern is formed into close contact with each other by performing evacuation through the air-evacuating recess 251 in the state where the photomask 31 is superimposed on the resist film 2; and a step of exposing a portion of the resist film 2 that corresponds to the pattern of the photomask 31 to light, wherein the pattern of the photomask 31 is formed so as to extend from a region facing the protrusion 252 to a region facing the air-evacuating recess 251 on the resist film 2.

  • Patent number: 6407885
Abstract: A thin film magnetic head that provides, despite a narrow head track width, strong recording magnetic fields and demonstrates a sufficiently high recording capability for the high Hc recording media. The lower magnetic pole is formed with a lower write chip section and a shared shield section, while the upper magnetic pole is formed with an upper write chip section and a yoke section. The lower and upper write chip sections are made of a high Bs magnetic material, the yoke section is made of a high &rgr; magnetic material, and the shared shield section is made of permalloy or the like magnetic material. The upper write chip section is longer than the lower write chip section (which corresponds to the head gap depth); this configuration makes the contact area with the yoke section greater, even if the head track width is narrow, and provides strong recording magnetic fields.

  • Patent number: 5946479
Abstract: A method and device for generating mesh to be used in numerical analysis for regions of an object to be analyzed, the regions of an object to be analyzed being input as data for a geometric model which defines their geometric form in a coordinate system which is set as a standard. This geometric model is then divided into equal parts in the coordinate directions of the coordinate system to generate blocks. After this, the vertices, endpoints and points of the shapes formed by the intersection or touching of the boundaries of the geometric model and each of the generated blocks are extracted. These extracted points, along with the vertices, endpoints and points of the geometric model and the vertices of the generated blocks, are set as nodes. Finally, mesh elements are generated for each block using the nodes.

  • Patent number: 5729398
Abstract: A head cleaning device for use in a magnetic recording and reproducing apparatus comprises a cleaning roller in which a lubricant with an excellent lubricating action under low humidity conditions impregnates the soft material. This lubricant compensates for the drop in the natural lubricating action resulting from a moisture deficiency, and therefore prevents the production of seized deposits. Furthermore, the head cleaning device comprises a first cleaning portion impregnated with polymer resin and abrasive particles, and a second cleaning portion comprising only a soft material, the second cleaning portion can remove by wiping any abrasive particles or deposits left on the magnetic head surface immediately after the abrasive cleaning action of the first cleaning member.
