Abstract: An abnormality diagnosis apparatus performs: a first step of diagnosing a shortage of precharge voltage or a short-circuit failure between electrodes of a capacitor based on a detection value of a precharge voltage detection circuit in a state where a first relay and a second relay are turned off, and a precharge circuit is operated; a second step of diagnosing, after a normal determination in the first step, a disconnection failure of a precharge path based on the detection value of the precharge voltage detection circuit or a detection value of an inter-relay voltage detection circuit in a state where the first relay and the second relay are turned off, and the precharge circuit is not operated; and a relay failure diagnosis step of diagnosing, after a normal determination in the second step, a short-circuit failure and an open failure of the first relay or the second relay.
Abstract: A surgical system according to one or more embodiments may include: manipulators respectively supporting an endoscope and surgical instruments; a remote control apparatus including a display device to display an image captured by the endoscope, operation handles to operate the surgical instruments respectively, and foot pedals; and a control apparatus. The foot pedals include first and second foot pedals for the surgical instruments, and a third foot pedal for the endoscope. The control apparatus displays a graphical user interface, overlapped with the image captured by the endoscope, on the display device, the graphical user interface including first to third areas to display information on the surgical instruments and the endoscope. The control apparatus changes, when a foot of an operator is detected at an operation preparation position of one of the foot pedals, a display form of corresponding one of the first to third areas.

Abstract: The invention provides an evaluation method capable of objectively evaluating average visual perception for a comparatively long period of time when a subject looks through an eyeglass lens to be evaluated, time-dependent change in visual perception, and visual perception when looking with both eyes, and the invention provides a design method, and the invention provides a calculation method for calculating characteristics of visual perception of the subject when viewing an object through a lens.

Abstract: An electronic device according to a first aspect comprises an imaging device and a processor. The imaging device has a predetermined imaging region, and is configured to capture images having different focal distances. The processor is configured to execute a first process of identifying two or more focus identification regions included in a first imaging region included in the predetermined imaging region by comparing the captured images in the first imaging region, and a second process of interpolating a focal distance of a middle region not belonging to the two or more focus identification regions in the first imaging region. The second process includes a process of interpolating the focal distance of the middle region based on a focal distance of an interpolation focus region that is located inside or outside the middle region and that is one of the two or more focus identification regions.
Abstract: An ECU includes plural sensor units and plural control units. The sensor units include magnetic field detection elements for detecting a rotation of a motor, and output mechanical angles related to the rotation angle in one rotation and count values related to the number of rotations of the motor, respectively. One rotation of the motor is divided into indefinite regions, in which detection deviation of the count values may occur, and definite regions, in which no detection deviation occurs. The definite region of the count value is set to deviate from the definite region of the other count value. Absolute angle calculation units calculate the absolute angles using the count values of the definite regions.
Abstract: A treatment system can include a treatment instrument with an operation input element that has a magnet; and a sensor that detects a parameter that changes with a movement of the magnet together with the operation input element based on an operation of the operation input element. The treatment system can also include a control apparatus that can control the supply of electrical energy to the treatment instrument for operation of the treatment instrument. The control apparatus includes a processor that can determine a relationship between a change in a distance between the sensor and the magnet and a change in the parameter, and to set, based on the relationship, a threshold for switching between an ON state and an OFF state of the supply of the electrical energy to the treatment instrument.

Abstract: An electric power steering apparatus has a rotation detection device that includes a sensor section that detects a rotation of a motor and outputs a mechanical angle and a count value, and a signal obtainer that obtains the mechanical angle and the count value from the sensor section. The rotation detection device also includes an absolute angle calculator that calculates an absolute angle based on the mechanical angle and the count value and a storage area for storing a reference value that is used for correcting calculation errors in the absolute angle.
Abstract: An electric power steering apparatus has a rotation detection device that can recover from abnormalities in calculating an absolute angle. The rotation detection device includes a signal acquirer that acquires a mechanical angle and a count value from a sensor, and an absolute angle calculator that calculates an absolute angle based on the mechanical angle and the count value. The rotation detection device further includes an abnormality determiner that determines abnormalities in the calculation of the absolute angle. The absolute angle calculator stores an absolute angle hold value prior to the detection of the abnormality the absolute angle. When the abnormality of the absolute angle is resolved, the absolute angle calculator calculates a recovery-time absolute angle, and returns to a normal-time absolute angle calculation.

Abstract: To provide a fixing pressure roller production method which can readily provide a fixing pressure roller in which no abnormal foaming occurs at the interface between the elastic layer and the metallic core. The method of the present invention includes a molding step of molding, under reduced pressure, an unvulcanized silicone rubber containing a chemical foaming agent; after the molding step, a leaving step of allowing the molded product to stand for a predetermined period of time; and after the leaving step, a foam-curing step of vulcanizing the unvulcanized silicone rubber, to thereby yield an elastic layer formed of a foamed silicone rubber.
