  • Publication number: 20120179398
Abstract: It is arranged to obtain charging voltage when charging voltage is applied to a nonaqueous electrolyte type lithium ion secondary battery and discharging voltage when a discharging current is generated by the battery. A coefficient of a quadratic term of an approximated curve of a quadratic function with respect to changes in value within a sampling period for each of the charging voltage and the discharging voltage is calculated. This calculation is repeated over a plurality of the sampling periods. Based on occurrence situations of symmetry phenomenon and intersection phenomenon in the calculated coefficients, it can be determined whether or not there is a possibility of lithium deposition without disassembling the battery.

  • Patent number: 8075479
Abstract: In a drive mechanism which displaces a movable lens to be displaced, a shape memory element which is displaced due to heating. A displaceable range of a movable lens is restricted between a first position and a second position. With the shape memory element in a heated state upon applying a predetermined amount of heat to the shape memory element, the movable lens is displaced to the first position, and when the shape memory element is not heated, the movable lens is displaced to the second position. During a normal observation, a time for which the movable lens is displaced to the second position is longer than a time for which the movable lens is displaced to the first position.

  • Patent number: 8016754
Abstract: An endoscope apparatus includes a front end section which is rigid, and a flexible tube which has a bent portion. One end of a tube which can be bent is fixed to a lens barrel which holds an optical mechanism having a movable section. The tube is extended in a longitudinal direction of the flexible tube of the endoscope apparatus, and at least a part of a shape memory element is accommodated inside the tube. One end of the shape memory element is fixed to an end of the tube, which is not fixed to the lens barrel, and the other end of the shape memory element is mechanically connected to the movable section of the optical mechanism which includes the movable section. Due to expansion (elongation) and contraction of the shape memory element, relative positions of the movable section of the optical mechanism which includes the movable section, and one end of the tube fixed to the lens barrel are changed.

  • Patent number: 7839260
Abstract: At the time of start of usage, a voltage to be applied to a shape memory alloy wire 102 by a feedback control circuit 120 is set to a first voltage value (step S1), and at a limit resistance value detection step, (the feedback control circuit) measures a limit resistance value when the shape memory alloy wire 102 can be contracted (step S2), and upon storing the limit resistance value, a value of the maximum voltage to be input by the feedback control circuit 120 is set to a second voltage value (step S3). At an input electric power optimization step, a target resistance value is indicated, and the feedback control is carried out such that the resistance value indicated is not lower than the limit resistance value (step S4). Thereafter, voltage is stopped at the time of stopping the use of the actuator.
