  • Patent number: 8849012
Abstract: There are provided an image processing apparatus, a method, and a program capable of appropriately adjusting the stereoscopic effect in a stereoscopic image with a person. The attention point serving as the provisional cross point position is set to a person's eye, and the cross point position is shifted backwards from the attention point as the percentage of the image occupied by the face increases, thereby adjusting the stereoscopic effect so as to increase an area of the object which is projected forward from the cross point. Regarding the calculation of the back shift amount, the back shift amount is set to increase as the percentage of the face occupied in the standard image increases, and the coefficient is set to be smaller as the number of pixels of the positions nearer than the attention point increases, and the set coefficient kb is multiplied by the back shift amount.

  • Patent number: 8803875
Abstract: When a plurality of faces are arranged in order of distance, a three-dimensional effect evaluation value r for each face is determined on the basis of a three-dimensional effect evaluation function F1 having a point A which internally divides the distance from the front side to the rear side in the depth direction at 1:2 as the vertex. A face with the maximum three-dimensional effect evaluation value r, serving as a face with the highest priority, is determined to be a main object. Then, three-dimensional processing is performed on a plurality of images such that the parallax of the determined main object is the minimum, thereby generating an image for three-dimensional display.

  • Publication number: 20130241955
Abstract: Provided is an augmented reality providing apparatus capable of preventing an image sickness and reduction of a third party. When a position measurement reliability is less than a first threshold and a movement of HMD 100 is a second threshold or more, the HMD 100 does not output the same virtual combined images as that displayed on display units 3R, 3L, but outputs virtual combined image having been stored in an image storing unit 17 and displayed on the display units 3R, 3L previously to an external display device.

  • Patent number: 8311362
Abstract: Sharpness is calculated in all of focus-bracketed images on a pixel basis. Then, a first reference value indicating an image of the plurality of images to which a pixel whose sharpness is the highest among the pixels located on the identical positions in the plurality of images belongs is obtained on each pixel of the images, and a second reference value is calculated based on the first reference value on each pixel by spatially smoothing the first reference value on each pixel based on the first reference values on adjacent pixels. The focus-bracketed images are processed based on the second reference values to generate an omni-focus image or a blur-enhanced image. Accordingly, it is possible to judge a region having high contrast as an in-focus region and acquire a synthesized image having smooth gradation.

  • Patent number: 8284264
Abstract: An imaging apparatus capable of reliably obtaining and recording an image that satisfies a predetermined condition. When a continuous imaging mode is set through an operation system, an image is obtained through continuous imaging, and a determination is made as to whether or not the image obtained through the continuous imaging satisfies the predetermined condition. If the image is determined to satisfy the predetermined condition, the imaging is terminated and the image satisfying the predetermined condition is recorded.

  • Patent number: 8106995
Abstract: There is provided an image-taking method and apparatus capable of quickly taking an image in which a human face is in focus. When an instruction to take an image is input, multiple images are taken with different focus positions. A human face in each of the images is detected, an area enclosing a detected human face is set as a focus evaluation area, and a focus evaluation value is calculated. Once focus evaluation values for all the images taken have been calculated, the image with the highest focus evaluation value among the images is chosen and recorded. Thus, an image in which the human face is in focus can be readily taken without having to perform cumbersome operations such as an image choosing operation.

Abstract: An imaging apparatus includes an imaging device, an imaging device deriving unit and a signal processing unit. Pixels of the imaging device include a first pixel group and a second pixel group. The imaging device driving unit exposes the first pixel group during a first exposure period, exposes the second pixel group during a second exposure period, and reads first image data captured by the first pixel group and second image data captured by the second pixel group separately. The signal processing unit performs image processing for the first and second image data. A first shooting mode and a second shooting mode are provided. In the first shooting mode, the signal processing unit performs the image processing for the first and second image data separately to generate two pieces of subject image data. In the second shooting mode, the signal processing unit combines the first and second image data.

  • Patent number: 8085997
Abstract: Pseudo three dimensional image data sets are generated by an imaging apparatus, such as a digital camera having face detecting functions, by a simple operation. Reference image data sets, which are employed to generate pseudo three dimensional images, are generated from first image data sets, which are recorded. When new faces are detected by a face detecting section, correlative values between through the lens image data sets that include the new faces and the reference image data sets are calculated. When the calculated correlative values are greater than a predetermined value, pseudo three dimensional images are generated from the recorded first image data sets and newly obtained second image data sets that include the new faces.

  • Publication number: 20100302355
Abstract: A stereoscopic image display apparatus includes an image receiving device for retrieving right and left eye images of plural stereo pairs obtained stereoscopically from a storage medium by one pair. A parallax checking device determines parallax information of parallax of a common principal object present in each of the right and left eye images being retrieved. A stereo matching unit corrects a right eye image in projective transformation to minimize the parallax information being determined. A display panel displays a three dimensional image according to the right and left eye images after correcting the right eye image. A controller, while the display panel displays the three dimensional image, causes retrieval of the right and left eye images and determination of the parallax information thereof with the image receiving device and the parallax checking device with respect to a succeeding stereo pair among the plural stereo pairs.

  • Patent number: 7835550
Abstract: The image of a face is cut from an image obtained by image sensing. Original image data is read from a memory card and the portion of the original image that is the image of the face is extracted by trimming. The image of the face is subjected to correction and other processing. Data representing the image of the face thus processed is recorded on the memory card. Thus, the original image and the image of the face are recorded on the memory card. The original image and the image of the face can be displayed by reproducing the data recorded on the memory card.
