  • Patent number: 7092829
Abstract: In an instantaneous wire interruption detection system for a vehicle electrical system, a VSC-ECU includes an input processing circuit that processes electric signals transmitted from various sensors and an EFI-ECU by a signal wire (wire harness); a signal state determination circuit that determines whether the electric signals processed by the input processing circuit are normal or abnormal; a latch circuit that latches the determination result as a latch signal; and an output circuit that can output the latch signal. When a signal abnormality is detected by the signal state determination circuit, the latch circuit is able to generate the latch signal in synchronization therewith, and latch the latch signal for a predetermined time. Accordingly, for example, by connecting a tester device to the output circuit, and monitoring the latch signal, it is possible to detect instantaneous wire interruption of the electrical system.

  • Patent number: 7082357
Abstract: When a resistance value of a CAN bus main line is 60 ?, the CAN bus main line is in a normal state. However, the resistance value thereof differs depending on an abnormality portion when an abnormality such as disconnection, short circuit, or the like has occurred in it or a branch line. Therefore, the abnormality portion can be identified depending on the measured resistance value. In addition, a failure diagnosis portion of an ECU stores different diagnosis trouble codes in the memory for the following cases; when an abnormality has occurred in the CAN bus communication, when various sensors are malfunctioning, and when an abnormality such as disconnection has occurred in a communication line that is connected to the various sensors. Accordingly, the resistance value of the CAN bus main line is measured, and the abnormality portion can be identified by a combination of the resistance value and the diagnosis trouble code.

  • Patent number: 5991561
Abstract: An image-forming apparatus, and a method thereof, that transfers the toner image formed on the photoreceptor to an intermediate transfer belt in a first transfer area during a first transfer. When the first transfers of prescribed toner images to the intermediate transfer belt are completed, the intermediate transfer belt transfers the toner images obtained in the first transfers from the intermediate transfer belt to a recording medium in a second transfer area during a second transfer. Moreover, the area of the intermediate transfer belt that is susceptible to creep buckling (the `creep buckling risk area`) is prevented from passing through the first transfer area during the first transfer, thereby improving the image formation.

  • Patent number: 5957486
Abstract: Gas generated from an inflator flows into a first portion of a main bag and each part of an inner bag, and the first portion is inflated toward an area in front of passenger's seat. Then, the gas filling the first portion which has been inflated flows into a second portion of the main bag. In this situation, the inflation direction of the second portion is more downward than the inflation direction of the first portion. As a result, a speed of backward inflation is decreased.

  • Patent number: 5943540
Abstract: A transfer belt device having a roller unit. The roller unit includes a drive roller, a transfer roller, and a continuous transfer belt that is suspended around the roller unit. The drive roller rotates at a peripheral speed and drives the transfer belt such that a toner image may be transferred to it from an image carrier. The image carrier moves at a speed by means of the transfer roller. The drive roller is composed of a hard core roller that is coated with an outer layer of elastic rubber having a thickness t.ltoreq.1 mm, and is located downstream from the transfer roller in terms of the direction of movement of the transfer belt.

  • Patent number: 5692064
Abstract: A number of fish may be counted by emitting an ultrasonic wave or an electromagnetic wave toward a predetermined area of a body of water where fish pass (e.g., a fish farming pool, a river or the like). Reflected waves are received from the fish bodies so that the reflected waves received from a cross section of the predetermined area are periodically stored. An ultrasonic wave fish shade image is produced that shows changes of fish shades. Fish are counted by performing an image processing which discriminates the ultrasonic wave fish shade image based on a predetermined fish shade decision rule. This arrangement reduces errors occuring due to muddiness and dust in the water and allows an automatic continuous fish counting ability over a long time period.

  • Patent number: 5353355
Abstract: A device for recognizing and matching fabric pattern-forms for cutting is constituted by a marking CAD, a pattern-match control computer, a pattern recognition device body, a camera, a monitor and console, a mouse, a camera positioning robot, a cutter, a camera and video signal changeover mechanism, an iris controller, a pattern-match and cutting table, and so on. In the marking CAD, information concerning cutting point sequence data and pattern-matching points is generated and transferred to the control computer. The pattern-matching control computer moves the camera above each of the pattern-matching points to fetch an image to thereby measure the pattern position. The cutting point sequence data are revised on the basis of the result of the measurement. When poor recognition or erroneous-recognition occurs in the pattern recognition based on the image, the pattern position is determined manually through the monitor and console and the mouse.

  • Patent number: 5144679
Abstract: In correspondence with the graphic data having a spatial extent, there is the address data table configured of arrays, the dimension of which are not smaller in number than the dimensions of the extent of the graphic data. Coordinate transformation is performed between the graphic data and the address data table, whereby any desired point on each figure can be brought into correspondence with one array number of the address data table. Those memory addresses of a graphic data table at which the individual graphic data items are sorted, are subsequently stored in the address data table. In case of searching for graphic data located at any desired position, the corresponding array number of the address data table is obtained on the basis of the position, whereupon the desired figure can be searched for through that memory address to the graphic data which is stored.
