Abstract: Described are a 4,6-diarylpyrimidine derivative represented by the following formula (1): ##STR1## wherein R represents a heterocyclic ring which may be substituted by one to four lower alkyl groups or an amino group and Ar represents a phenyl, naphthyl or aromatic heterocyclic group which may have one to four substituents, and a salt thereof; a preparation process therefor; and a pharmaceutical containing it as an effective ingredient. It has excellent neovascular inhibitory action and is useful as a therapeutic agent for solid cancer, rheumatism, diabetic retinopathy or psoriasis.

Abstract: An electromagnetic agitating method in a casting mold for the continuous casting of a slab in which electromagnetic agitating devices for generating a thrust force in the slab drawing direction are arranged at at least an inner wide surface of both inner and outer surfaces of the slab casting mold in a bending type continuous casting machine. The thrust force in the drawing direction applied to molten steel within the casting mold by the electromagnetic agitating devices is substantially applied from the narrow surface of the casting mold toward the center thereof in a range except a predetermined length in order to perform an electromagnetic agitation of molten steel.

Abstract: A quaternary ammonium having a muscle relaxation activity compound represented by the formula (I): ##STR1## wherein R.sub.1 represents a methylene, a lower alkylenoxy, a lower alkenylene, a lower alkynylene, --CO--, --COO--, a lower alkylene carbonyloxy, --CH(OR.sub.5)--, a lower alkylenecarbonyl, a hydroxy lower alkylene, --O--, --S--, --SO--, or --SO.sub.2 --; R.sub.2 represents a hydrogen atom, a hydroxy lower alkyl, an aldehyde, a lower alkyl carbonyl, --NO.sub.2, or --NHR.sub.6 ; R.sub.3 represents a hydrogen atom of a group --R.sub.1 --(CH.sub.2).sub.a --[CH(CH.sub.2 A)--CH.sub.2 ].sub.b --A; R.sub.4 represents an anion; R.sub.5 and R.sub.6 represent a hydrogen atom or a acetyl; A represents a quaternary ammonium group; a represents an integer of 1 to 8; b represents 0 or 1; m represents an integer of 1 to 4; and (Z) represents a trivalent benzene ring, a trivalent naphthalene ring, a trivalent diphenyl or a trivalent ethane radical.
