  • Patent number: 7325824
Abstract: A head-protecting airbag device according to the present invention is mounted on vehicle by attaching an airbag module including an airbag and a roof rail garnish to vehicle. The garnish covers an interior side of the folded airbag. The airbag module includes a clip having a garnish side joint portion to be detachably engaged with the garnish, and a vehicle body side joint portion to be engaged with vehicle body in a state of holding a mounting portion of the airbag. In the clip, an engaging force of the garnish side joint portion with the garnish is predetermined weaker than an engaging force of the body side joint portion with the vehicle body, such that the garnish is detachable from the vehicle body while leaving the mounting portion of the airbag attached to the vehicle body. In the head-protecting airbag device of the present invention, maintenance of the roof rail garnish is facilitated.

  • Patent number: 7172209
Abstract: An airbag of the head-protecting airbag device according to the present invention pushes and opens a door portion in a lower edge of an airbag cover, when fed with inflation gas, and protrudes for covering side windows. An assist grip is located in an arrangement area of the airbag cover. The assist grip is secured to vehicle body together with the airbag cover at its fixing portions located in both ends of its grip portion. The airbag cover is provided around each of portions fixed to the vehicle body together with the fixing portions with a breakable portion. When pushed by the inflating airbag, the breakable portion is broken to shift a portion of the airbag cover located toward the door portion inward of the vehicle.

  • Publication number: 20040256843
Abstract: In the head-protecting airbag device according to the present invention, an airbag is folded and arranged inside a vehicle from a front pillar on to a roof side rail in the upper peripheries of a plurality of side windows while being covered by an airbag cover. The airbag inflates when fed with inflation gas, pushes open a door portion formed in the lower periphery of the airbag cover, and then protrudes for covering the side windows. The airbag cover is located below a roof head lining and formed separately from the roof head lining. The airbag cover includes a plurality of parts split in the front-rear direction. The split part located foremost covers the interior side of the front pillar, and is extensively located up to an area rearward of an intersection of the front pillar and the roof side rail. Therefore, the head-protecting airbag device of the present invention has an improved appearance in the side of the front seat.

  • Patent number: 5806914
Abstract: A door weather strip comprises a mounting base, a sealing section consisting of a first sealing wall, a second sealing wall, and a lip, a vehicle outer side, and a vehicle inner side wall, and has a hollow portion being surrounded and defined by the sealing section, the vehicle outer side wall and the vehicle inner side wall. Then, the bridging section connecting the second sealing wall and the lip is formed near the hollow portion with a recess which forms a thin wall portion as a bending portion for the lip to easily turn back. Accordingly, when the door glass is fully closed, the distal end of the lip turns back to strongly press the inner side surface of the door glass so that high tightness performance can be obtained and the door glass is firmly supported.

  • Patent number: 5127193
Abstract: A weather strip for a motor vehicle includes an extruded weather strip of which an end portion has a width gradually increasing toward an end thereof. The end portion has a slit extending from its end along a root portion of a lip-shaped sealing portion projecting from a base portion thereof, thereby dividing the end portion into two divided portions. The slit is enlarged so as to have a width increasing toward an open end thereof. The enlarged slit is filled with a molded portion so as to connect the two divided portions to each other.

  • Patent number: 3960463
Abstract: In a starting operation of a pump or a pump turbine with high head and large capacity, adjustable guide vanes are fully closed and compressed air is introduced within the runner casing to depress water around the runner. When the runner begins to rotate at a synchroous speed, the guide vanes are excessively opened to an over opening position where no reverse flow of the discharge flow occurs. After the stream of the discharge flow becomes steady, the guide vanes are moved conversely to a predetermined opening position where the maximum flow rate of the pump is obtained with low noise and low vibration. The present invention relates to a starting operation for a pump or a pump turbine with adjustable guide vanes circumferencially arranged around the runner, and more particularly to a starting operation for a pump or a pump turbine which is operated by controlling the opening of the adjustable guide vanes.
