  • Patent number: 6011634
Abstract: A portable facsimile equipment in which document data to be transmitted can be displayed on an LCD display. When it is desired for a communication module to transmit document data obtained through a document module or a scanner module, the document data to be transmitted can be displayed on the LCD display. When it is desired to display image data read out by a scanner and stored in a RAM on the LCD display; the image data having a resolution of 8 lines/mm read out by the scanner and stored in the RAM is converted to data having a resolution of 3 lines/mm for display thereof on the LCD display. Further, the communication module performs its communication with a wired line through a modular connector provided at a side of an LCD board, and the received information is displayed on the LCD display.

  • Patent number: 5548406
Abstract: An apparatus for performing a recording operation by using standard type recording papers wherein data are outputted by printing them on one of the standard type recording papers as well as a method of controlling the foregoing apparatus are disclosed. When all informations are important and image data of the kind including informations within the critical range relative to recording papers each having a standard size are printed, a standard type recording paper having a length enough long to allow all the data to be effectively printed on a single page of standard type printing paper is fed to a recording section from which the data are outputted by printing them on a single page of standard type printing paper, in any case where the data having a quantity corresponding to a single page exceeds the length by which an effective printing operation can be performed for the standard type printing paper. Otherwise, the data are outputted by printing them on two pages of standard type recording papers.

  • Patent number: 5483274
Abstract: A thermal head is used on a thermal transfer recording apparatus which can record a continuous, fine line or curve by recording many dots, by a thermal transfer system, on a recording sheet. The thermal head comprises a one-dimensional array of heat generation element groups each comprised of a plurality of heat generation elements, such as heat generation resistors of, for example, a parallelogram, a diamond or an elliptic configuration, continuously arranged in a direction perpendicular to that in which recording is made on a recording sheet and lead electrodes connected adjacent to each other in predetermined positions, in which the longitudinal sides of the heat generation resistors are made oblique at a predetermined angle.

  • Patent number: 5280365
Abstract: An image processor in which input image data is sampled at a sampling circuit at a constant rate corresponding to P times the rate of the input image data and then subjected at a decimating circuit 14 to a decimating/reducing operation with a magnification of 1/Q to obtain image data having a magnification of P/Q in a horizontal scanning direction. An original-document reading motor is controlled under a scanner controller so that a relative moving speed between an image and a CCD is set to be lower than an ordinary moving rate. Under this condition, the image is repetitively read a plurality of times with respect to an identical line and then subjected at a line decimating circuit to a decimating/reducing operation on every line basis to obtain a resultant image having a desired magnification in a vertical scanning direction.

  • Patent number: 5278581
Abstract: A printer has a shift register, an emission-time setting section, a laser diode, and a drive section. The register supplies the emission-time setting section with bits representing consecutive pixels including at least one black pixel. The emission-time setting section determines the period of time during which the drive section is to drive the laser diode, from the pixel patterns represented by the bits supplied from the register, and outputs an emission-time signal which represents said period of time. In response to the emission-time signal, the drive section drives the laser diode for the period of time, whereby a black pixel of a desired size is formed on a printing medium.
