  • Patent number: 4632210
Abstract: An exhaust system for a vehicle is made sufficiently long and yet allows the muffler to be located relatively close to the engine by curving the exhaust pipe about a cooling fan provided for the engine. The arrangement also facilitates mounting of the exhaust system to the engine and vehicle bodies at a fewer number of support points.

  • Patent number: 4622622
Abstract: A headlamp system for use in vehicles having a front leg shield. The headlamp system has a cavity formed within the front leg shield. A headlamp is pivotally mounted within the cavity and is connected to a motor driven shaft which can be used to raise the headlamp to an upright vertical position by means of rotating the shaft. The headlamp assembly includes a lid member which forms a continuous surface with the front leg shield when the headlamp is not in use and has been retracted within the cavity located in the front leg shield.

  • Patent number: 4564081
Abstract: Motorcycles of the type having front leg shields, step floors and rear mounted engines have water-cooled engines with radiators mounted at the front leg shield. Tubes connecting the radiator with the water-cooled engine extend below the step floor. In certain of the embodiments, a trunk is illustrated within which the filler cap and the radiator tank are positioned for easy access. The trunk may be mounted above and spaced from the front fender to define a passage for frontal air to be directed to the front mounted radiator.
