Abstract: A picture recording apparatus laser beam printer wherein a cassette, accommodating paper for receiving a transferred image, is loaded or unloaded on a front side of a housing of the printer. The conveyance direction of the paper accommodated in the cassette is reversed so as to be supplied to a transfer section by a paper separation reversal guide section. The conveyance direction of the paper is further reversed so as to be discharged on a tray in manner such that a forward end of the paper is located on a front surface side and an image transfer surface of the paper is faced downwardly. A manual paper feeding section is provided on the front side of the housing. A major portion of the cassette can be accommodated inside the housing whereby and the installation area can be reduced.

Abstract: A cleaning device for an image forming apparatus includes a magnetic brush for causing a magnetic carrier and a toner to slindingly rub a surface of a photoconductor and removing the residual toner adhering on the photoconductor surface. The cleaning device further comprises a toner recovery assembly with a bias voltage applied thereto and for electrostatically attracting the surplus toner in the magnetic brush, a detector for detecting a toner density of the magnetic brush in terms of a magnetic permeability or a resistance of the magnetic brush and a bias voltage control means for controlling the bias voltage to be applied to the toner recovering system in accordance with a detected output of the toner density detector.

Abstract: A cleaning device for a transferring system wet type electronic copying machine. A cleaning roller is juxtaposed with the photosensitive drum in such a manner that the roller is in contact with the drum so as to absorb developing solution containing toner left on the photosensitive drum. The developing solution containing toner absorbed by the cleaning roller is squeezed out by a cleaning device which depresses the cleaning roller and is then discharged by discharging means.

Abstract: An original sheet carrying and illuminating device for use in an electrophotographic copying machine and which is provided with first and second carrying means driven at a predetermined speed to carry an original sheet, the portion of the second carrying means participating in carrying the sheet being shorter than the first carrying means, the second carrying means being provided with means for pneumatically attracting the sheet onto the second carrying means, and there being further provided first and second lighting means selectively energized to illuminate either of the surfaces of the sheet.
