  • Patent number: 9014088
Abstract: Mobile nodes are allowed to move around within an intermittent communication environment. A mobile node wirelessly communicates with an access node when approaching the access node, and stores data. The access node stores an action history for each mobile node, and generates a forwarder list in association with a destination node, based on action histories of the mobile nodes. The forwarder list stores one or more identifies each identifying a first mobile node in the order of an arrival probability indicating a probability that the first mobile node succeeds in delivering the data to the destination node. The access node selects second mobile nodes that are to carry the data to the destination node, based on the forwarder list, and transfers the data to one of the second mobile nodes when a communication link is established between the access node and the one of the second mobile nodes.

  • Patent number: 7818289
Abstract: A shared storage device stores therein a correspondence between data retrieved by data collectors bys previously searching a data controller and a search target data identification (ID) for searching the data controller. The data collector first accesses the shared storage device and uses the search target data ID to search the shared storage device. Upon corresponding data being stored in the shared storage device, the data collector retrieves the data and transmits the retrieved data and the search target data ID to a load-dispersing device. Upon the corresponding data not being stored in the shared storage device, the data collector uses the search target data ID to search the data controller. After retrieving the data from the data controller, the data collector transmits to the load-dispersing device and further transmits to the shared storage device, the read data and the search target data ID used to search the data controller.

  • Publication number: 20080232266
Abstract: A network monitoring apparatus that is in communication with a monitoring target apparatus through a network, receives traffic values transmitted from the monitoring target apparatus, accumulates the traffic values, calculates a traffic calculation value for judging congestion of the monitoring target apparatus by using the traffic values, and using a judgment target value corresponding to a traffic value as a congestion judgment target from the traffic values transmitted from the monitoring target apparatus and the traffic calculation value as a threshold value, compares the judgment target value and the threshold value. The apparatus judges whether the monitoring target apparatus is congested with traffic by using the comparison result.

  • Patent number: 6552737
Abstract: A device for controlling multi-window display on a screen includes a screen-operation detecting unit which detects user screen operations including a user operation of a pointer on the screen. The device further includes a control unit which controls a window to increase an amount of information displayed therein when said screen-operation detecting unit detects a move of the pointer into an area of the window.

  • Patent number: 6484128
Abstract: A data processing system which provides increased reliability by properly managing a plurality of basic modules. System configuration data is a collection of information regarding basic modules constituting each target system. Compatibility data is compiled to keep statistics of past failures occurred in a target system, which maintains the following associated records: properties of failed basic modules, properties of their related modules, failure types, and failure counts. When a basic module is changed in a target system, the target system sends out a notification message. This message is received by a notification message parser and supplied to a system configuration manager via a hardware change manager. The system configuration manager first consults the system configuration data to identify the changed basic module and its related basic modules, and then retrieves information about compatibility of such basic modules by consulting the compatibility data.
