Abstract: An injection quantity increasing mechanism for a governor in a fuel injection pump which is actuated at engine starting includes a guide lever and a torque cam both rotatable in accordance with the rpm of an engine, a floating lever swingably connected to the guide lever, a control lever for controlling the engine rpm and a control rack for controlling the fuel injection quantity both associated with the floating lever, and a stop device lever adapted to be displaced in a direction which decreases the fuel injection quantity and is associated with the control rack.

Abstract: A centrifugal governor for an internal combustion engine, which includes a sensor lever adapted to engage a cam surface portion of a torque cam determining a starting fuel increment at the start of the engine to displace the control rack into a fuel increasing position, and a cancelling spring interposed between the torque cam and the tension lever and urging the torque cam with a force dependent upon the angularity of the tension lever in a direction of disengaging the sensor lever from the cam surface portion for interrupting the starting fuel increasing action of the governor. When the engine is in a starting condition, biasing means forcibly displaces the torque cam against the urging force of the cancelling spring to a predetermined position wherein the sensor lever can easily engage the cam surface portion, and holds same in the predetermined position for a predetermined period of time.

Abstract: A centrifugal governor ensures a positive engine starting operation as well as a smoke control in the low engine speed range and a usual fuel injection control responsive to an increase in engine speed. A control rod with a rack is operatively connected with a floating lever through a spring biased piston and cylinder assembly, so that the control rod can be freely moved to its maximum fuel injection position during engine starting without being effected by a smoke limiter, which may be associated with the governor for a smoke control purpose. A unique lever mechanism is operable to move the control rod to the maximum fuel injection position during engine starting but, after a predetermined engine speed is reached, yields to a movement of the control rod in a fuel decreasing direction caused by the floating lever through the piston and cylinder assembly.
