  • Patent number: 8371869
Abstract: A minute connector with a first connecting member and a second connecting member. The first connecting member has a first conductive portion disposed at each of the bottom surface of a plurality of recessing portions set at an insulative first substrate connected to first ends, and first contacts made of first carbon nanotube bundles protruding from the surface of a first substrate at second ends. The second connecting member has second contacts made of second carbon nanotube bundles connected to second conductive portions disposed at each of the bottom surface of recessing portions set at an insulative second substrate corresponding to each of the first contacts at first ends. Each of the first carbon nanotubes contacts between the second carbon nanotubes with each other in an overlapping manner at the state that the first contacts are contacted with each of the corresponding second contacts.

  • Publication number: 20040258363
Abstract: The object of the present invention is to provide a highly reliable optical fixed attenuator and the manufacturing process thereof being free of the conventional cumbersome processes including the process for inserting the optical fiber into the ferrule and fixing thereto. In the present invention, the surface of an optical fiber is metalized to serve as an electrode of the electroforming process so that a metal layer to serve as the ferrule 11 is directly formed over the outside surface of the optical fiber 10, and, as a result, a long ferrule, wherein the optical fiber 10 and the metal layer are fully integrated, is made available, whereby an optical device to constitute the desired optical fixed attenuator can be obtained by simply cutting such a long ferrule to any desired length.

  • Patent number: 5136420
Abstract: An optical fiber amplifier is disclosed wherein pumping light and signal light are introduced into an optical fiber doped with a rare-earth element to directly amplify the signal light. The optical fiber amplifier of the invention comprises means constituted from a reflecting film, a fiber loop or the like for causing pumping light to pass by a plurality of times in the doped fiber. Due to the provision of the reflective film or the fiber loop, pumping light can be utilized efficiently, and the amplification factor of the optical fiber amplifier is improved.

  • Patent number: 5080613
Abstract: A combination of a plug assembly to be attached to a printed wiring board, and a receptacle assembly to be attached to a shelf back-board. The plug assembly comprises a set of plug contacts mounted to a plug housing. The receptacle assembly comprises a receptacle housing capable of mating engagement with the plug housing, and a set of resilient, bladelike receptacle contacts mounted to the receptacle housing. Each bladelike receptacle contact has two protuberances formed in longitudinally spaced positions thereon. Each receptacle contact is so made that only one of the two protuberances thereon is normally held against one associated plug contact upon interfitting engagement of the receptacle housing with the plug housing. At least selected one of the receptacle contacts butts on a projection on the receptacle housing and is thereby resiliently displaced in such a direction that the two protuberances on the displaced receptacle contact are both held against one associated plug contact.

  • Patent number: 4226491
Abstract: An electronic device comprising a printed circuit board unit contained in a protective cover, and which also serves as a guide member when the electronic device is inserted into a mounting chassis. The cover is constructed from a member formed in one piece, the member having cover portions and flexible hinge portions for permitting the cover portions to be pivotally moved with respect to each other between open and closed positions of the cover. The printed circuit board unit has a printed circuit board which is integrally formed at respective opposed ends with an electrical connector and a handle, which both project out of the cover. Such construction is simple and inexpensive to manufacture.
