    Abstract: An aircraft lavatory unit that includes a diaper changing platform has a first side wall and a second side wall located on both sides of a toilet bowl, and a rear surface wall located to the rear of the toilet bowl. Handrails are provided on the first side wall and the second side wall. The diaper changing platform can be pivoted between a stowage position in which it is stowed in a stowage recess in the rear surface wall, and a usage position in which the diaper changing platform is lowered above the toilet bowl. The diaper changing platform is configured so that in the usage position it is supported by placing both sides of the bottom surface on the handrails of the first side wall and the second side wall.

A bottom compartment, including a contour matching the contour of a section of a bowl on the rear wall side, is provided between a bottom wall and the bowl, and a trash receptacle, consisting of a trash can and a fire extinguisher, is provided in the bottom compartment. The toilet is disposed inclined at an angle relative to the second side wall, so that the center line passing through the center of the toilet in the widthwise direction is farther from the second side wall, as it gets closer to the front wall side relative to the second side wall.

    Abstract: A handle structure is provided with handles and finger insertion recesses disposed on each of first and second doors. Each handle is provided with a finger-hook plate piece that extends vertically while protruding from the vicinity of one end faces on an outer surface, where first and second doors are bendably joined, toward other end faces. The finger insertion recesses are formed on the outer surfaces of the first and second doors in such a manner as to face the finger-hook plate pieces, and are formed in dimensions that enable fingers to be hooked on inner surfaces of the handles. The handles and the finger insertion recesses are formed in a bilaterally symmetrical shape with the end faces, which face each other, of the doors in the center.
